Via Umberto I, 143 - The Garfagnana and Mid Serchio Valley started in the year 1000. This is the land of the mountains and farm to table food. In this area we use local ingredients and products. The area lives consistently in Slow Food and Lifestyle. My friend Sandra Rigali who is a painter in Barga, refers to the area as “Where Time Flows Slowly By”.
I have lived in this area since 1994 and want you to experience the food and the people of this area of medieval hilltop towns.
Come with me to walk the streets of Borgo a Mozzano, my local community and meet the people. Then we will visit the Vinery, where you will taste the wine and choose and cork your own bottle the old fashioned way. Then we will go to the local Macelleria and choose the local products of the area. Then I will show you how to create a the perfect aperitivo drink and create the aperitivo board, so you can enjoy the art of Slow Food and Lifestyle.

Discover the art of preparing an excellent Aperitivo in the serene woodland of Garfagnana, a place where time seems to have a pause. Escape the hustle and bustle of the city to visit a historic 1200s Palazzo, complete with original flooring and chestnut ceilings. During your visit, you’ll get a glimpse of life in a small, non-touristic town. As we stroll through the town and interact with its inhabitants, I’ll educate you about its culture and traditions. We’ll stop at a local winery, a favorite spot among locals who bring their bottles to buy wine. Experience corking your own bottle of wine in a traditional, age-old method. We’ll also explore the Devil’s Bridge where I’ll narrate its legend to you. Finally, we’ll relish our antipasto at the kitchen table, overlooking the mountains as we share stories.
