Highlights
  • Boseong Green Tea Field Daehan Dawon - Boseong is a county in South Jella Province which has the perfect climate and soil for growing green tea with a distinct taste and aroma. Among many tea farms in Boseong, “Daehan Dawon” is the iconic site of green tea plantation because of its huge size and magnificent view with rolling hillsides of green tea bushes. We will stroll along the paths to the top observatory while enjoying fresh air and a spectacular layered view. At the end of the walk, we will taste green tea ice cream! This place is green all year round.
  • Boseong-eup - < Lunch Time > We will have lunch in a local restaurant which is popular for its grilled pork patties with green tea powder. It is possible to change the menu to cockle bibimbap (another local specialty) or italian pasta for vegetarians.
  • Korea Tea Museum - Korea tea museum was established to introduce the Korean tea culture and history in 2010. Visitors can view the whole process from cultivation to production of tea with graphic panels, images, and dioramas. There is a tea ceremony room, so we can learn how to prepare and drink tea in Korea through educational and hands-on experience.
  • 613 - There are many tea farms in Boseong, and one of them has a wonderful view point with a lake and green tea plantation. We will stop here for enjoying the view and having some rest.
  • 142-124 - < Haepyeong Lake Trail > It is a hidden gem in Boseong. Around the lake, there is an easy 3.9km(2.4mile) trail with stone towers, cedar trees, bamboo trees, maple trees, cherry blossoms and more. Amid the trail, it is connected to a vinegar park which produces naturally fermented grain vinegar. It has a beautifully designed café inside with their unique vinegar drinks. We will have a stop here to enjoy the view and the special beverage.
  • Deungnyang-myeon - It is not just any mountain. The hike up Mt. Obongsan takes you along a rocky ridge and fascinating views with rock formations, stone pagodas, and waterfalls. In particular, this mountain is a unique cultural heritage because it was the place for quarrying Goodeuljang, which is a flat stone used in Ondol (underfloor heating system for Korean traditional houses). It had been actively quarried from 1940s to 1980s and accounted for 70% of the production of Gudeuljang nationwide. To deliver the quarried stones from the mountain to the ground, the cart drawn by a cow was used. The cart trail is still well preserved, and we will hike up through the cart trail to the waterfall (15minutes) or to the peak (40minutes).

Fantastic private tour to Boseong Tea Fields - I had an amazing time with Veronica! Veronica is wonderful, very kind and funny. She is very flexible in the itinerary and can adapt the tour to personal preferences and needs. A private pick up and drop off from your accommodation is included in the tour which I really appreciated and which makes things a lot easier and comfortable. Veronica is very knowledgeable, and I learned a lot about the area around Gwangju, Boseong and the South Joella province. She took me to all these hidden gems e.g. the walk around the lake or a small traditional hanok village. The tea fields of Boseong are definitely worth a visit! The views over the tea fields are stunning. The tea ceremony included in the tour was very private and personal. It was just Veronica and I, and the instructor. You learn how important the correct preparation of tea is. I enjoyed the tour greatly, and really recommend it! Thank you, Veronica!! P.S. I’m vegan and I really appreciate how Veronica tried to accommodate to my dietary needs. The food was delicious!!

Veronica went above and beyond! - Although private tours are expensive, this has everything to cover and everything else is already paid for! Veronica was very nice and friendly and went above and beyond, it felt like hanging out with a new friend for the entire day. Thank you Veronica again! Definitely recommended for people who can fit in their budget and wants to visit the Boseong Green Tea Village without tedious bus/train rides.

A great day - more than just tea! - We had a marvelous day. Our guide was very nice, professional and went to great length to accomodate our needs and interests. In addition to the touristic sites such as the tea plantation and the tea museum - I really recommend the tea ceremony btw - we visited a local restaurant and more remote spots and had a relaxing walk around a beautiful water reservoir which ended at a vinegar producer/cafe with an extremely peaceful and trendy ambiance. We enjoyed the day and will never forget all the beautiful places we have seen.

BEST TOUR IN GWANGJU! - I absolutely LOVED this tour. I was a solo traveler and Veronica was an amazing guide. She is very knowledge about Gwangju and surrounding areas. I enjoyed learning from her and the places chosen. I highly recommend this tour. Also all the photos I uploaded were taken by Veronica so also an amazing photographer. She will pick you up from your hotel and she was super nice and friendly. I enjoyed all of the time spent on this tour and the places we went. I was unable to upload the tea farm photograph she took, but that place was amazing as well! Highly recommend this tour as a solo traveler or if you are with others. Amazing experience for me.
