Awesome day in Chobe - Pick up was on time & Simon was an absolute gentleman. He made sure we had everything we needed & let us know what to expect for the day. Once through immigration (Simon helping us) we were met on the Botswana side & helped through immigration swiftly & driven straight to Chobe. Our driver Veegro (terrible at spelling) was top notch. We saw heaps: Lion, lioness with her cubs, giraffe, Buffalo, elephants (100’s), hippo, warthog, zebra, kudu, impala, waterbuck, baboons, etc. Then onto the boat & that was also brilliant. Best game visit to a park in many years & I've done quite a few over the years. Veegro was awesome, funny & very knowledgeable.

Bravo Goes To Cuckoo Safaris!! - This was our 1st visit to Zimbabwe. We arrived Victoria Falls by Rovos Rail from Cape Town and Pretoria. We had our first fantastic Safari experiences in Hwange Nat'l Park, as part of our Rovos Rail excursion. We were excited to continue the safari experiences with the safaris that we had booked through Cuckoo Safaris. The 1 day Chobe river cruise/ safari-game drive and half day safari-game drive in Zambezi Nat'l Park did not disappoint. We saw an AMAZING amount animals, birds, and reptiles in their natural habitat. The guides, Figo and Mtabisi, both with PUKU Safaris, were timely, knowledgeable, professional, kind, and personable. The morning cruise on the River is a must for any visitor. Our to and from Botswana Driver Manda was timely, professional, kind, and humorous as well. His assistance and help getting through the border and into Botswana was greatly appreciated. Got to give a BIG Shout Out to and for Tatenda Tarzan our Cuckoo booking agent. He was soooo helpful and so patient as we planned and booked our safaris/game drives. We had hoped to meet Tatenda in V.F. and THANK him personally, but unfortunately that didn't happen. We would certainly book through Cuckoo Safaris again. Caution; I had problems in Zimbabwe with older USD currency notes being refused for purchases and tips. The older notes, without color, are seen by the locals as being "No Good". Be sure to take newer USD currency notes.

Great Day Out from Victoria Falls - Simon from Cuckoo Safaris picked us up and took us to the border. The vehicle was extremely nice and Simon's commentary en route was excellent. Highly recommend Then picked up by Puku Safaris in Botswana and taken to Chobe where we joined a River cruise. This was again excellent with very informative commentary. We were then taken to lunch. It was very busy but sumptuous buffet. Figu from Puku Safaris then took us on a land safari which was highly enjoyable with great humour from Figu. Figu then took us to the border where we were met again by Simon for the trip back to VF in luxury after the safari vehicle. Very enjoyable day. Border crossings could be tiresome but that's not the tours fault. Ideally you would do the River one morning and the land safari the next. For me this was the highlight of our VF visit (having been previously) and went some way to easing the sting of the now $50 US pp entry into the falls area.

The best Chobe river tour - I love the tour, mostly the river part. Our guide, July, was fantastic explaining the behavior of the animals and name of si many birds. The ride was very relaxing.

Chobe jeep and boat tour - Simon was our driver to and from Botswana. He was great- very friendly and knowledgeable. Cobra was our jeep driver in the park. He was also very knowledgeable and we were able to see many elephants, impalas, and giraffes-no cats although he looked for tracks. July was our boat driver and we saw hippos in and out of the water along with water buffalo, crocodiles and birds. Water was provided on jeep and boat. Buffet lunch at hotel was okay- need to purchase own beverages.

Things you need to know - you get picked up and first thing you have to do is pay $40.00 ($20.00) per person suppose to be for park fees but never saw the drive give any money to Safari Guide. Between drive to Botswana closing the border doing all the paperwork to exit Zimbabwe enter Botswana. We were picked up at 7:30 AM and did not actually get out on a game drive until 10:30 AM. The safari driver was okay - not great. We did not even have cold drinks as in water/sodas etc they were all warm. Coming back with all the formalities was the same and very time consuming. VERY IMPORTANT if you are flying into Victoria Falls make sure you get a multiple entry $45.00 (A single entry is $30.00) the problem is when you come back from tour if you do not have a second entry it is another $60.00 for two people. This applys to any tours or game drives you do the are out side of Zimbabwe. ALSO be aware do not fly into Victoria Falls and have a hotel in Livingstone. Trying to get transportation from VF airport to Livingstone is impossible not to mention extremely expensive and then you are going to end up paying for another visa into Zimbabwe as the best spots to view the falls is from the Zimbabwe side. The helecopter ride over the falls is okay but due to all the mist you can not really see the full falls. Even on the groud very difficult not to mention plan on getting very wet even if you stay on the path above the falls from all the mist.
