Great experience - Had a great time at the sanctuary. The guide, Dragos, was very nice. He even bought me a bottle of water. Good conversations in the car to and from the sanctuary, and a lot of laughter!

One of the highlights of our trip. - Our driver/ guide (Dan) was excellent. He was on time, very accommodating, extremely knowledgeable and eager to share information about Romania, the bears, the sanctuary and anything else we asked of him. He guided us to the sanctuary and handed us to the sanctuary guide. He was waiting for us when we returned and made sure we had a good experience. The actual sanctuary tour guide was also fantastic and we loved the experience.

Happy bears! - It was amazing to see so many bears - they all have sad stories but are being well looked after by the sanctuary. They are fed at visiting time so you're sure to see them pretty close up. You can also see wolves and other rescued animals here. Some of the hills you have to walk up/down can be a little steep, so bear in mind if you struggle with walking

A great activity to do while staying in the area - Great from start to finish. Was picked up by Alex, who offered to stop off at a local bakery on the way there (which was a delight). When we arrived he guided us to the rest of the guided tour while he waited in the car for us to finish. The tour was very informative about the sanctuary and there were alot of bears around (with extra animals such as wolves, deer and dokneys. When finished we met with Alex at the car park and stopped of at the bakery one more time on the way back to our hotel.

LiBEARty Sanctuary, a place where sad past pales in the face of hopefulness - Having Dan drive us to and from the LiBEARty Sanctuary in Zarnesti was a delightful, comfy, laid back and informative experience. Even more so for foreigners, I'd say, as Dan gladly offers insight on local wildlife, history and sightseeing. And with the trip lasting about 45 minutes one way, it most certainly leaves you wanting to find out more ;-) . The Sanctuary itself is a successful tale of wildlife enthusiasts battling against indifference, meanness, even outright animal cruelty, and managing to raise awareness and hint to a brighter future. Visitors get to hear a collection of sad to outrageous stories that today's Sanctuary residents (mainly bears, but also wolves, deer, turtles, even domestic animals) have gone through, some of which may leave one wondering who's the actual beast. Yet, at the end of the 1.5 hr expertly guided tour (of about one quarter of the Sanctuary) you're left with an overall positive feeling that something can be done, and is actually done. Hats off to all those involved!

A wholesome and comforting experience - 10/10! Would highly recommend this to anyone and everyone. Our driver Dan was talkative, friendly and knowledgable about Romanian history, culture and current events. He was passionate about the welfare and wellbeing of the bears, the purpose and mission of the sanctuary and also had some tips and recommendations for other places to visit and eat whilst in Brasov. This trip exceeded my expectations and proved to be worth every penny spent, knowing that the majority of the money goes straight to the bear sanctuary. Dalia our tour guide at the sanctuary was quirky and knowledgable and had excellent knowledge of each individual bear along with its history and back story. The gift shop had home made unique items that we couldn’t resist. A highly recommended experience for anyone visiting Brasov or the Transylvanian region. Thankyou very much.

Zarnesti Bear Sanctuary - Dan kept in touch frequently to finalise details and promptly picked me up. Gave me tips and information on things to do locally. Also decided to extend my tour to the nearby Gorge.
