Learn about the storied history of Râşnov Fortress, a walled stone compound designed to ward off attacks by the fierce Tartars and used as a refuge for local villagers during medieval warfare. Explore the time-worn courtyards, ramparts and well of the 13th-century fortress built by the Teutons. Opt to have lunch in Râşnov if you like (own expense).

Dive into the myths of Transylvania through a visit to Bran Castle and Râșnov Fortress, as part of a small group excursion. Leaving from Braşov, the half-day tour kicks off with a visit to Râșnov to discover its formidable, 13th-century stronghold. Next on the list is Bran Castle, often referred to as ‘Dracula’s Castle’ — an estate perched atop a hill that incites images of wolves howling and bats dancing under the moonlight. Explore the castle’s Gothic rooms and uncover its connection to Bram Stoker’s immortal antagonist. Opt for an extension to your tour to the exquisitely adorned Peleș Castle (payment to be made during the booking process by selecting the option!).

- RASNOV FORTRESS IS CLOSED, for the moment! Anyhow, we could visit the outside walls and exterior court. We visit other site, instead (eg. The St Bartholomew Evangelical church / Cristian Saxon Fortified Church / Valea Cetatii Cave). The guide will inform you about the options.
- Please bring your own mask; we provide hand sanitizer. We are cleaning vehicles after every tour.

- The recommendations of our tour guides: We are always eager to make sure our guests have a wonderful time while participating on our tours. Organizing private and small group tours allows us to be flexible with time and always have opportunities for breaks. Usually, we arrive to Bran around mid-day and after visiting Bran castle our guests can have some free time on the premises and nearby the castle grounds for lunch, shopping or photographing the area. In the Tea House, a small restaurant in the castle’s courtyard one can try the Funeral cake, a porridge like dessert with walnuts, raisins, rom and much more. In Romanian called Coliva the funeral cake usually is served at funerals and commemoration of deceased loved ones. It goes well with a good coffee or tea. Nearby the castle entrance a small souvenir market is located, our favorite stall is selling traditional masks and handcrafted objects and textiles. Please ask your guide to point it out to you! Our guests have the option to decide to have a proper sit-down meal or something quick on the move. The same market has food stalls, one of the most popular ones sells Romanian Hot Dogs (local sausage sandwiches) and Hanul Bran restaurant offers a large choice of tasty Romanian cuisine.

Brilliant, informative and fun. - What a brilliant experience. Dan our guide was informative, friendly, entertaining and really brought the whole experience to life. We were mesmerised by his storytelling and were in awe at his knowledge. His car was comfortable, he had great music and singing (this was great) and we loved sharing his favourite pastry store. A fantastic wonderful experience of Bran Castle and the fortress and would highly recommend Dan and this company.

Highly recommended tour - Our tour guide was amazing.
Charlie was very professional, very knowledgeable & was extremely attentive.
I was so impressed with this tour & the ease in which we went from one destination to another, we never felt rushed. Charlie explained everything clearly & concisely.
I would highly recommend this tour &, in particular Charlie.

Dan is a great guide - I cannot speak more highly of this tour. I had it booked with a mystery holiday company and ended up being the only one on my tour. My guide Dan was so knowledgeable and friendly, he also treated me to some opera on the journey.
Unfortunately pele's castle was closed so we could only see the grounds (which are still incredible), as I was booked on the castle expenses paid trip Dan made up for this by taking me to Cantacuzino Castle (the castle used for the school in Wednesday), which more than made up for the lost time at Pele's.
All locations were ace and I don't think I could have had a better guide.

A great day out exploring the Transylvanian castles - Our tour was made by our excellent guide Charlie. He was so knowledgeable about all of the castles we visited, and the areas we passed through on the way, but kept everything light-hearted and entertaining. Peles Castle was a personal highlight, it is just beautiful and the attention to detail is incredible. Charlie knew so much about the history and life of the castle that we learnt a huge amount without really trying to! Bran Castle is obviously a must-see, but was surprising as well for lots of good reasons. Charlie recommended a place to get lunch from whilst we were there and we couldn't fault that either.

Beautiful Views of Romanian History - Dan was amazing! He was prompt, outgoing, and knowledgeable of the history. We loved hearing the history of România and the places we visited. He was accommodating. 10/10 would recommend to everyone that, but especially his guidance for everyone traveling to Romania.

Peles, Bran and Fortress in Braşov. Great ride. - In August we had the opportunity to visit Romania.
Arriving in Braşov we had the pleasure of visiting Peles Castle followed by Bran and the Fortress in Braşov.
initially we thought we would do separate excursions, thanks to Tiberius and the professional and knowledgeable guide we were able to visit everything in one day. Tiberius explained everything to us in detail and where possible he saved us time.
The tour with him is highly recommended.

Peles, Pelisor, Bran and Rasnov tour - The tour was really good value for money. Dan was a very careful driver and knew how to avoid getting stuck in traffic. He was extremely knowledgeable and gave us all sorts of information about architecture, art, history, local tradition, folk legends. I had a fantastic time!

Great guide and a journey through history - The castles we visited are interesting, but the best about this experience was Tiberiu's (our guide) explanations. He made this tour a journey through history and I discovered so much more than what I had expected. Definetely recommend him and the agency.

A good day trip - Bran Castle was very interesting, and the grounds/garden were also well kept. The drive by the ski area was also interesting. It would have been nice to see more of Rasnov Fortress. We only looked at the outside for a few minutes and then left. Also I would have like to see Bran Castle from different directions! We really only saw the side entrance area.

Interesting and relaxed tour of 3 historical locations. - This was a wonderful and very informative experience. The small van was comfortable and our driver/tour guide, Tiberiu, was exceptional in his vast knowledge of history and not just Brasov but the larger historical perspective of the region. His love of history, city and Country is evident adding to the richness and diversity of his sharing. He was one of the best guides I have had the pleasure of learning from over these last 2 years of travel.
If you haven't already done your research please note that Bran Castle is interesting - if you are looking for Dracula this might disappoint simply because the history here is not about the myth but the region and its historical defense of the area. Peles Castle is absolutely breathtaking. I recommend booking and enjoy a fabulous day. However, if you utilize the pick-up and drop-off service I strongly recommend that you CONFIRM in advance that you will be dropped-off at the SAME location that you were picked-up at. There was confusion regarding this for me and Active Travel Brasov, the tour company, sorted it all out. To avoid the end of a wonderful day being a bit of a let-down I recommend that you confirm this detail. Enjoy.
