Unique Gunditjmara Country - We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Rueben this morning it was fabulous, very informative and fun. We finished off with a yummy eel tasting platter served by very friendly staff at the cafe. We camped at nearby Budj Bim National park with lots of wildlife and clean facilities. Both highly recommended!

If you don’t know, FIND OUT! - Excellent tour! The sophisticated indigenous history that colonisers failed to hide comes to life at Budj Bim, revealing Gunditjmara ingenuity in shaping the land to sustainably harvest and process eels. This tour opens the history book at 37,000 years ago, highlighting the critically important relationship between culture and landscape. Go in the morning then stay for lunch.

I was lucky enough to be the only person booked in on the day, Luke was a fantastic guide & It felt like such a privilege for him to share some of his culture with me. Amazing cultural experience - The two hour tour starting and ending at Tae Rak was so informative and interesting. Rueben our guide was excellent , we all learnt so much, starting at the cultural centre - with the fascinating story of the famous eels- continuing, via mini bus, to see the ancient fish traps on country. Beautiful country. We enjoyed lunch at the cultural centre afterwards.

Hidden Gem That Every Australian (and overseas visitor) Should Visit at Least Once - Coming from a different State, our family in Tarrington suggested visiting this World Heritage Site with us, as they had previously visited, and were blown away. We did the tour with Reuben, and boy it was a real eye opener. Reuben's knowledge of the area, and the history he imparted, was something that every Australian, and overseas visitors, should experience at least once in their lives. Reuben is an incredible voice, and we all said we would gladly go back and do this tour, as well as other tours available, again.... and again. What a hidden gem that needs to be more prominently advertised.

Money well spent - recommended tour. - Our 2 our session was excellent: info on the life cycle of eels was interesting and information on indigenous culture fascinating. Our guide was very entertaining and knowledgeable. The centre itself is a beautiful building - it is out in the sticks but well worth making the trip. I wish that we had time to have done the full day tour. So much to learn!

Eel samples - It would have been nice to have received a recommendation to do an eel sample which we heard about by reading the reviews today. We came a long way to have a genuine experience and it doesn’t measure up in value to what’s on offer elsewhere around Australia.
