- Mere Point Boat Launch - After meeting at 8:15am to get outfitted and learning how to paddle our sea kayaks, we carry our sea kayaks down to the water and launch. We will paddle as a group in NW Casco Bay to one of these two oyster farms: Mere Point Oyster Company or Love Point Oysters based on weather conditions and tides.
While heading to the oyster farm we’ll be looking for wildlife, lobstermen hauling, and learning about the history of the area. Photo opportunities are everywhere and your guide will take some candid photos.
After learning all about oyster farming and how the oysters help clean the water, we will stop for a break on an island where everyone will get to taste raw oysters either plain, with citrus, hot sauce or Alice’s Awesome Adventures Maine Blueberry Mignonette Sauce. There will be time to explore the shoreline or enjoy the views. We will return to our starting point, carry our kayaks up and debrief.
If conditions at normal starting point are unsafe, the tour might be need to be adjusted. Be sure to check your email or texts. Tips are customary at the end of the trip.

Experience the exceptional difference of savouring ocean-fresh oysters as opposed to having them at a restaurant. The allure is in the freshness! This marine kayaking expedition serves as a tutorial on terrestrial marine kayaking basics before we set off from Mere Point in Brunswick to explore an operational oyster farm in North West Casco Bay! A pit stop at an island for relaxation, tasting, and coastal exploration is part of the itinerary after the farm visit. Discover the benefits and impact of aquaculture in Maine on the health of the bays.
Sea kayaking is a simple, delightful method to soak up the sights from the water. We often spot various types of seagulls, cormorants, black and mallard ducks, eider ducks, great blue herons, snowy egrets, osprey and bald eagles. With a bit of luck, we might spot a seal.
This picturesque, protected, and historic area of Casco Bay is a dream destination for paddlers of all ages—no kayaking expertise required! Single and double kayaks are provided for this eco-friendly tour led by a Master Maine Guide.
