Highlights
  • Grand Place - Our guide will meet you right in front of the main gate of the City Hall. From there he will guide you around the square to describe and decode the symbols on the different facades : City Hall, King’s House, House of the Dukes and many other important houses that hosted important names like Victor Hugo or Karl Marx.
  • Manneken Pis - Why this fountain of a peeing boy became so important does not always make sense. While you enjoy a warm waffle, our guide will explain to you all the history beyond this mysterious boy. Despite its disappointing size, you will start to like him and also value our Belgian mentally.
  • Place De La Vieille Aux Bles - Here, you will listen and meet in person Belgium’s GOAT, elected by Belgians in the year 2000.
  • Statue: Gabrielle Petit at place St Jean - On Saint-John’s square we will take a minute to honor the bravest lady our Kingdom has known. Her unwavering courage and dedication to the cause of freedom inspired many during the war and beyond.
  • St. Michael and St. Gudula Cathedral (Cathedrale St-Michel et Ste-Gudule) - This Cathedral is a must-visit monument during your stay in Brussels. Despite its soberness, the sculptures and the stainglasses of this bright church will amaze you. The Chair of Truth is considered to be a masterpiece of wood sculpting of the 17th century.
  • Place Royale - In this part of the city, you will feel more like Paris or Vienna. Very different from the architecture of the starting point, this square is an ideal place for closure with an astonishing view on the city. Our guide will then spend all necessary time to advise you and help you organize the next days in the city.
  • Mont des Arts - Walking down to the city center on the Mont-des-Arts, will be a well deserved reward. You may stop frequently to take beautiful pictures, but certainly enjoy the stairs and the Albertine Park.
  • Parc de Bruxelles (Warandepark) - A little walk in this beautiful and serene park will be a short getaway from the city center. Thanks to the temporary exhibition of Geluck’s Le Chat sculptures you will learn more about Belgian humor.
  • Mary Chocolatier - As Supplier of the Royal Family, the House Mary will astonish you with its delicious chocolates and fairy setting. In the Royal Galleries you will learn all about Belgium finesse and chocolate.

Brussels Up Close - Excellent and interesting history of several key places in Brussels. The samples of waffles and chocolate were very nice and enjoyable without any heavy sales pitch. The guide was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions.

Enjoyable and so very informative - We loved this tour ! What a fantastic guide we had! She was a young, slight lady with a wicked sense of humour. Sorry it’s a few weeks back and my memory recall, isn’t great. But if you come across her - you’ll know. The tour, waffles, chocolate and places we went- were fantastic. Do your selves a favour and book this tour!

Great Overview of Brussels - We had limited time in Brussels and wanted to see the highlights. The group was limited in size, the commentary was good and we covered a lot of ground.

Best Tour Guide in Europe! - Wonderful experience getting to enjoy this tour with my spouse. The guide is highly knowledgeable, passionate, and helpful. We would recommend him to anyone visiting Brussels for the first time. He also took us to get REAL Belgium waffles and chocolate (and avoided all the touristy areas that aren’t as authentic).

Solo Brit who did this tour in August 2024 - It’s good - it’s all the main places covered that are central - the pissing boy, the great market square, the royal palace, an old fashioned luxury shopping plaza that used to be only for the rich and so on. But it means you’re definitely not going to miss any of the highlights. It’s nice to share that with others from other countries, and at each stop you get a very well rehearsed and delivered historical anecdote with great English but also a hint of emotion and passion and sincerity. You’re going to get the right waffle and the right chocolate this way too ie from the right places. They were where they said they’d be and on time, and the tour ran to time. All good.
