A very enjoyable day - I had a great time. The bus was not too packed, the walking tour was fun (Diego was a great tour guide) and there was enough time to try different things. I went on a canal tour and also went to see some artwork. Overall a good time.

Nice day out - The meeting point was easy to find and then we walked to the coach. We shared a coach with a Spanish group and two tour guides (one for each language). The guides spoke to us briefly on the coach and it was just under an hour's drive to Ghent. On arrival we had a toilet stop and then a guided tour. The English group was much smaller so we had a nice size to walk around with and the tour was good. Our guide Julian was knowledgeable and gave us some recommendations. Afterwards we had 4 hours of free time to explore which worked well. Would recommend this tour and coach travel.

1 day in Ghent - Pablo was knowledgeable, accommodating, and very enjoyable. His knowledge of history and his ability to make connections throughout Belgium's timeline was very helpful. The day was beautiful, so no one-minded the walking. After some initial transportation issues with the company, not the guide's fault, we had plenty of time in Ghent. A terrific one day excursion, which still left us the late afternoon and evening in Brussels.

Great information during tour. - Good transportation and story telling by the guide. There was a misunderstanding regarding the meeting point at the end of the tour due to a split English/Spanish groups combined situation. My husband and I ended up having to find our own way back to Brussels. Luckily, he is Dutch and was able to communicate with locals for directions. I texted VIATOR through the app and didn’t receive a response. Well, things happen and nothing more than having to buy train tickets followed. We were on vacation and decided to just focus on solving the mishap.

Magnificent cathedrals - The Lamb of God tour in Saint Bavo’s cathedral is worth the trip! Also enjoyed the Gravensteen Castle tour.

Great value - Lovely tour. I think 4 hours of free time may have been too much but if you want to do many museums, then it may be better for you. The mystic lamb tour at the cathedral was wonderful. Overall good value to when you consider the bus trip is included and the ease of that versus public transport. Beware that (like the rest of Europe) there are lots of stairs so strollers/wheelchairs can be problematic.

Gent tour, poor performance. - The important part is the "adoration of the mystic lamb" including the 3d tour. Do not miss it. Otherwise the tour was POORLY organized. The group was mixed with Spanish speaking people and we had very little interaction with our English tour guide. Most things that we did and read about was from the Eyewitness tour book which is very helpful. Find a different company, not Buendia.

Poor Planning & Execution - Viator knew before the tour that we were bringing our luggage as we were not coming back on the bus that came from Brussells. We took a taxi to the meeting point because of our luggage. I was astonished to learn that we then had to walk 5 blocks to the bus with our luggage. We should have been told to meet where the bus parked. When arriving in Ghent I was even more disappointed to find that all the charming squares were off limits due to the upcoming festival set-ups plus the town was abnormally crowded. Had we been told of the festival, as we should have been, we would not have booked. We also learned from the guide, who had arrived a year ago from Spain & spoke broken English, that the tour ended at 1230., when Viator stated it was 9 hours. I then had to move up our car service for which we were charged $84 extra. To make matters more worse, the guide emphatically endorsed a restaurant. When arriving at it, it was closed! We believe that we should be refunded for this tour from hell.
