Highlights
  • Palace of Parliament - On the Bucharest City Tour at the Palace of Parliament, also known as the People’s House, you’ll discover the dangers and devastation a totalitarian regime like communism can inflict on a nation. The sheer scale of pointless opulence and megalomania will make you feel insignificant, showcasing what ‘the sleep of reason’ can produce. Imagine witnessing the second largest administrative building in the world, second only to the Pentagon, and having an experience to share with your grandchildren.
  • Muzeul National al Satului “Dimitrie Gusti” - During the Bucharest City Tour, you’ll visit The National Village Museum, where Romanian traditions come to life. You’ll learn how Romanian villagers created an ecological and sustainable environment in their own backyards and get a glimpse into their simple, modest lifestyle, living in social and spiritual harmony with their surroundings.
  • Calea Victoriei - Victory Avenue - a boulevard featuring communist-era buildings, but also an area where you can admire French architecture!
  • Piaka Revolukiei - One of the most significant locations when discussing the Romanian Revolution of December 1989!
  • Ceausescu Mansion - The “Ceauşescu Mansion” served as the private residence of Nicolae and Elena Ceauşescu and their children, Nicu, Zoia, and Valentin, for a quarter of a century (1965-1989).
  • Catedrala Patriarhala - The Romanian Orthodox Patriarchal Cathedral, also known as the Metropolitan Church, is a functioning religious and civic landmark located on Dealul Mitropoliei in Bucharest, Romania. It is situated near the Palace of the Chamber of Deputies of the Patriarchate of the Romanian Orthodox Church. As a working cathedral, it hosts many religious holidays and observances for the Orthodox Christian community in Bucharest, including a Palm Sunday pilgrimage. The Orthodox Divine Liturgy at the cathedral is renowned for its a cappella choir, a tradition shared by all Orthodox churches in their prayer services and liturgical rites. The Romanian Orthodox Patriarchal Cathedral is a designated historical monument in Romania.

Excellent - I was looking for a Bucharest tour for 3 people and my Google search gave me some choices - one of them being Nicolas Tours. I called a few and I've got an incomplete response regarding the details. I somehow wanted to personalize my tour. Last call I made... I was surprised by the kindness and willingness of Nicolas. I decided to go with Nicolas, I paid half of the amount prior to the tour. Now... I heard rumours about how unreliable some companies are and I didn't really know what to expect. I even though this guy might not even show up... It was a pleasant surprise to see Nicolas in front of our hotel 10 minutes earlier. Ready and welcoming! A clean fresh minibus waiting. The Bucharest tour with Nicolas was excellent. Personalized the way I requested. Nicolas was easily multitasking - driving and being a perfect guide, talking and explaining whatever was around. Even he's romanian, his English was excellent. History, dates, architecture, contemporary details, just everything. Any questions has been answered promptly. A smile, a joke in between, politeness. All in all, highly recommended!
