The first stop will be in Bucharest at the National Village Museum, an open-air museum featuring authentic settlements from old Romanian villages. You will have a written guide available in English, Italian, or Spanish. For English speakers, our guide will provide detailed information about the museum. The museum visit will take approximately 1 hour. After this, we will head to the Salt Mine, which is a 2-hour drive from Bucharest. The Salt Mine offers a micro-climate with natural air-conditioning. Great day trip - Our tour guide was great. We actually couldn’t go to the salt mine due problems with the road conditions, but our tour guide was an amazing problem solver. Instead, he took us to a remote forest park that was gorgeous and had so many different activities to do; such as a board walk, boat tours, restaurants, horses, and more. The tour guide left us alone so that we could explore the area, however he was always willing to answer questions that we had and provide recommendations. We then went to the village museum where there were hundreds of houses and buildings to look at, some of them you could even go inside. Our tour guide waited for us outside the museum, but there were English signs for us to read for all the exhibits. Our tour guide even picked us up at 5:45 in the morning later that week to take us to the airport; for a small fee. Very enjoyable.
