Early in the morning you will leave Bucharest behind and head north to get in the Carpathian Mountains. Your first stop of the day is Peles Castle. This is an overwhelming site built by the first Romanian king, Carol I. In this fairy-tale location you will learn more about Monarchy in Romania and its heritage. You will discover all the wonders of this beautiful palace which seems frozen in time.
Next, push further north to cross the mountains and finally get to the historical region of Transylvania. Over here you will start your vampire hunt and find out all about Vlad the Impaler and Bram Stoker’s Dracula. The first stop here is the medieval castle of Bran, also known as Dracula’s Castle.
After Bran we are heading to the 13th century medieval fortress of Rasnov, an impressive site built on a mountain top overlooking the whole valley around it. This awesome site was actually built by the Teutonic Knights when they first came here almost 800 years ago.
Your last stop of the day is the medieval part of the city of Brasov. Take a walking city tour of this charming old town with its impressive history and landmarks. From here you will journey back to Bucharest.
