Additional Information

Bucharest, once known as “Little Paris”, has suffered a lot under the Communist Regime. The destruction of the city reached an unprecedented scale, in just a few years more than 10.000 houses disappearing and more than 57.000 people being forced to move.

This tour takes all the different elements of the Communist regime and discusses them. From private life to politics and the age of great realization, we will see how a city transformed to its current state. From industrial giants to economic collapse, from repression to cold, hunger and anger, well see how a madmans vision affected millions of lives.

Our guides put a lot of effort into making this tour as great as it is, and we think an appropriate tip for their effort is 20 euros / person.

The tours start at 10.00, every Tuesday and Thursday.

Great tour - Great tour and great guide. The tour had a lot of information without being boring or overwhelming. Daniela was really great, having a permanent good vibe and managing to reply to any question. She kept everyone engaged and was a pleasure to be around.

a WOW tour! - This is one of the most interesting tours in Bucharest because you can find out the information you cannot find on Wikipedia. Daniela's style and culture will guide you approx 2h30m from one bohohoo place to another in an incredible part of Bucharest, where the architectural styles combine in an old appearance. Besides the places you will visit, Daniela is an incredible person, very smart, communicative, answering all your questions!

BOO-charest's most interesting tour! - Daniela is the best tour guide you could possibly ask for! She's kind and friendly with a constant smile on her face. You can tell that she's passionate about her work and she'll definitely make sure that you enjoy your time with her. Although the tour was a bit shorter due to the freezing cold and some people had to leave, she was willing to keep walking and narrating stories to the rest of us who wanted to stay. Do not hesitate to book a tour with her!! Trust me, you won't regret it! 😁

Unique experience - I don not believe too much in ghosts and vampires:)), but our history is full of legends and crazy stories and a tour with Daniela helps to understand better the traditions and strange spots from Bucharest. A nice evening walk with a pleasent guide.

Amazing tour of Bucharest!! - My Wife and I really wished we had booked this tour on the first night we landed in Bucharest as we had so many questions about the architecture, the history, the people which were all answered by Daniela. A lovely welcoming lady full of passion for the tour and well educated. Any question we threw at her, even questions that had nothing to do with the tour were answered so insightfully. If you are travelling to Bucharest this tour is a must!

Experience Bucharest in a way that's a bit different - This tour was recommended to me by a friend who knew that I wanted to connect with Bucharest in a way that was a bit off the beaten path, and she was wise to do so. Don't let the name of the tour fool you, though - you'll learn a lot about the mystical and paranormal aspects of Romania, and not just about its haunted places (although you'll see plenty of those). And for someone like me who, sadly, doesn't know much about the country, you'll learn a lot about Romania and Bucharest's history as well. Now when I walk around the Old Town I'll be able to see past its surface appearance as a decadent party district into its depths as a place with its own soul and character, as evinced in the amazing events that have played out there over the centuries. Daniela knows her stuff and she goes the extra mile to make sure that everyone feels at ease on the tour, and she's happy to answer questions about any other aspect of her city, too. Highly recommended.

A spook-tacular experience! - My friend and I really enjoyed our historical tour of Bucharest! Daniela is very knowledgable but also a lovely, friendly person! She really went the extra mile by helping us with other useful suggestions of what to do with our time there. We both loved hearing about the more creepy stories associated with Bucharest as well as the general history. Would recommend this to anyone staying there. :) Thank you Daniela!!
