Fantastic Free tour of the Jewish quarter - With our very knowledgeable tour Hey, send me Gary, we visited the three synagogues and the wall to the ghetto. I cannot recommend this tour more highly. The historical reviews were excellent. It is a free tour.l But of course, tips are always appreciated. This has been one of my highlights of Budapest. I learned so much in the tour and met some great visitors in our group as well from all over the world. I highly recommend.

Kösi triptobudapest.hu - Edina welcomed you kindly, indicated what we were going to do, started with a short intro and then the tour started. She spoke clearly, was very knowledgeable and was able to convey the information well. Even though I had continued straight after my flight and the general tour was not available, I immediately had a good idea of the city, its history and where it was going. Afterwards she also took plenty of time to answer some questions. On Saturday I went out on my own, on Sunday I joined the general tour, again with Edina, where she concluded with some more tips on what to do and what not to do. Subsequently I did the Castle Tour on the Buda side, this was with Bazsla (or Goulash), definitely a good tour guide. You can't miss his voice.

The good and the bad, Jewish legacies in Budapest - Guided by Emi. Overall a fun and attentive guide to have for this tour. I noticed that she often explains words to the group, e.g. meaning of the street or square names. I appreciated that as it slightly increases my Hungarian. Near the end of the tour either I missed her explanation, or she hadn't mentioned it yet until someone asked about what apparently is a bath to make things kosher. Generally speaking, the tour felt somewhat heavy as a subject, because the Jewish population greatly diminished over the centuries. Contrary to that feeling, there were some highlights that were inspiring or interesting to see up close. For instance, Wallenberg Memorial whose namesake helped Jews escape with a Swedish passport. Or the two synagogues of the liberal Jews that have a Moors design giving it a more mosque like appearance. Also the buildings that were ruined became a tourist spots, some as restaurants whereas others a ruined bar.
