One of the best tour guides - Ben was an exceptional tour guide. He enthusiastically shared the history of the Budapest Jewish community with us. We toured the synagogue, museum, memorial garden and continued to another synagogue before having coffee and cake. My husband had a small cut on his leg that wouldn’t stop bleeding. Ben took the time to find bandages and applied first aid. If you take this your, I hope Ben is your guide!

Budapest Jewish quarter tour - We’ve been lucky to have Oshri(?) as our tour guide. She is excellent tour guide with the deep knowledge of the theme and absolutely friendly attitude! Going through Budapest synagogues and streets we’ve discussed and shared a lot history facts from the beginning of humanity until modern days. It was almost 3 hours of emotional immersing ourself into the Jewish history of Budapest and Hungary. Thank you Oshri!

Interesting for a visit - Still an active synagogue and women will be given covers for their shoulders (paper shawl) and knees (paper robe if you are wearing shorts) and men will be given head covers (if you are not wearing a hat). Beautiful structure that looks like a hybrid between a church and a synagogue. The façade is marked by twin towers and the interior is laid out with an organ at the front (actually behind the Torah so it is actually outside the synagogue). Overviews are presented in six different languages in case you are not with a guide.
