Let’s cook together. I’m sharing my own family recipes with you to prepare a traditional Hungarian goulash (if you rather wish to cook another dish, like a lecsó or a chicken paprikash etc., just let me know)
While we prepare, peel, chop and then cook together you can ask me anything about culture, history and cuisine. I’ll tell you also about Hungarian wine culture and our popular spirits, some of them available worldwide. I believe that through a nations cuisine you learn a lot about its history, culture and mentality. Allow me to share all this with you.

- Hungarian Goulashsoup - Served hot. If we say goulash in Hungary, we mean the hearty goulash-soup
- OR: the Pörkölt (stew - which you might know as goulash) - Pörkölt with spaetzle (handmade noodles/dumplings) and cucumber salad
- OR: the Sekler- goulash (székely káposzta) - If you like sauerkraut, this might be a great dish for you
- OR: Lecsó - the Hungarian ratatouille - this dish we can prepare vegan, vegetarian or not :-)
- OR: layered potatoes - with eggs, hungarian sausage, potatoes, sourcream
- Stuffed cabbage - Served with a dash of sour cream and a slice of fresh bread
- OR: Peasoup - a tasty starter
- OR: Hungarian vegetarian pasta-dishes - like cabbage-noodles, potato-noodles, noodles with cottagecheese

A Wonderful Cooking Class! - Nelly is a wonderful host. She knows so much about both Hungarian and international cuisine, and the recipe we made together was absolutely delicious. I purchased this class as a gift for a family member, and it was really cool that we could experience it together despite not being in the same location.

Great Online Cooking Session with Nelli - We had a really fun and informative cooking session with Nelli online. She was in Budapest and four of our family members dialed in from the USA.
She gladly accommodated our request to cook vegetarian dishes. Nelli speaks very good English, is a great cook, and shares stories about Hungarian cuisine and her cooking experiences. She even knows all about Hungarian wine and spirits.
She is very outgoing and entertaining. She is very patient and takes all the time you need to cook the recipes (we did 2 recipes in 1 session.).
She will take time on email ahead of time to set up your session so that it is just what you want.

Professional and Personable. - I was in a group of four touring Budapest with Nelli. It was perfect! She is professional and personable. We explored parts of the city we would not have found on our own. Very eclectic settings with homemade goods, food and wine. It was a delightful experience! We plan to meet with her again for an online cooking class.

Another amazing experience with Nelli!!! - We were so fortunate last summer to spend time in Budapest with Nelli as she took us on one of her famous food tours, which was truly amazing. This past Sunday, we reconnected with Nelli and conducted one of her on-line cooking classes, what a blast! The Zoom call worked out beautifully with no technical issues at all. She prepared us well in offering what we needed to purchase before the class so we were all set once the 2 hr. session began. She was an amazing instructor ensuring we conducted every step in processing the food the exact Hungarian way. The Goulash turned out amazing, we had so much fun. Look forward to our next meal!

Educational, fun, delicious experience! - Nelli was fabulous! She is a great instructor! I enjoyed every minute of our session. The class was a gift from our son! I love to cook and he knew how much I would enjoy cooking with Nelli. Who knew something that started out looking like wall paper paste would become a delicious treat to serve with the goulash. She did not disappoint! The best part was eating the delicious food. I will be making this recipe for friends and family.. Thank you, Nelli and thank you, Brian for this wonderful gift

A wonderful opportunity for an online family get-together - Nelli is an absolutely delightful guide to Hungarian cooking! We made pörkölt together, and it was truly delicious. She has a wonderful style of presentation, and made this somewhat complicated dish seem easy. I had purchased this experience for my whole family, and we joined together via Zoom from California, Missouri, and Kansas (and Budapest, of course!). It was a great opportunity for our far-flung family to share something special. We plan do to this again soon, and we will recommend it to all our friends.

What a fun and delicious experience! - What a fun experience! We booked this activity with friends and family at five different locations. Nelli has sent us the shopping list in advance so we could join on zoom well prepared. She guided us step-by-step through a fun cooking process, while talking with us about life in Hungary, history, culture, traditions and food & drinks. And the dish we cooked was just exquisite. Thank you Nelli, we will be back for other classes too.

Fantastic and Fun! - In a word, delightful! Nellie is an excellent host, and shared both a lovely cooking lesson and a mini history lesson too. I was treated to aspects of Hungarian language and culture that might’ve easily been overlooked. Instead, it added to the enjoyment of the already wonderful experience. I can’t say enough about what a gracious and patient host Nellie is. I learned to prepare a dish and side that I will make again and again. If you’re hedging about taking the leap and going on this virtual journey, all I can say is, jump!!

Fun with friends! - We booked Nelli during the pandemic here in the United States. Eleven of us, in three different locations were able to gather for 2 hours of cooking. It was fun, informative with great views from Nelli's window and stories about Hungary. We ended up with a delicious Goulash- yum!!!!!!!
Nelli is a great instructor, storyteller and host. I would book her again without a second thought!

Nelli is fantastic! - We originally found Nelli through a search for food tours in Budapest. Our travel-foodie adventure with her was one of the best things we've ever done. We jumped at the chance to share this experience virtually with a group of friends by taking Nelli's Cook like a Hungarian online cooking experience. She offers a number of traditional Hungarian dish options, and we chose Pörkölt, a goulash stew and Nelli included a delicious cucumber salad as well as homemade spaetzle. These are dishes we found everywhere throughout Budapest. The aromas and flavors are unique to our travels there, and Nelli brought them right into our kitchen with easy-to-follow recipes, fascinating history and a joyful presentation. With ingredients from our pantries, Nelli shared the essence of our time in Hungary with us and our friends across the country. It was wonderful, and we're excited to do another course with her.
