Great day with Guachos! - Great fun day with lots of extras. Prompt pick up quick run down of days events drive with a couple great stops along the way and typical small towns along the way and then on to the ranch. I have horses so knew what to expect and their stock was perfect for the group which ranged from no experience to high level rider (not me). Food and BBQ was great, folk show and folk dances, and horse training demo. Well worth the money!!!

Definite "must do" tour--seeing the Argentina you won't see in the city. - What an amazing day--pick-up was smooth, our tour guide was great telling us about Argentina, the drive to the Pampas was great also. At the estancia, we had a great horseback ride, really great entertainment, and I can't say enough about how great the food was (lots of it too--wine and beer!).

Fun Day! - We had a great time! Mariela was our guide. She's very personable and caring. Went out of her way to make sure everyone had what they needed. We didn't go to two of stops, museum and church probably because it was a Sunday. The gaucho show was amazing and food excellent. Wine made at the estancia, beer, sodas and water are included. The carriage ride was boring and honestly I could have done without. The van used needed new shock absorbers as the bumps in the highway and especially the road to the estancia were bone jarring Overall an excellent tour and worth the time!

A great day in the countryside - Our guide Sabrina was excellent. She gave us a lot of information about the city as we drove through it, and the countryside we were about to visit. She explained every aspect of our trip in advance, so we knew what to expect. Once at the Estancia, we enjoyed the trail ride; the lunch that was served was excellent - and there was plenty of food and wine. Although we were exhausted by the time we returned, it was a good exhaustion!

Gaucho ranch experience! - This was an excellent experience! Nice bus ride with a very good tour guide. Made the 70 kilometre trip faster with visiting museums and an old church providing rest stops if needed. The horse back riding was safe , not too long and fun. There was a quick lunch provided immediately upon arrival. The best espanadas ever. Later we were dined out in the huge veranda of the main house. We were served entrees of Chicken, Pork, Beef and Lamb. For the brave at heart there was blood sausage and intestines . The service was top notch. The owner mingled with the guests and made sure all was well . This ranch boasts 90 horses and over 300 cattle , never mind sheep and pigs . All dogs are rescued ! All animals very very well looked after . Small entertaining show at the end . A gaucho did some really wild things with his horse.

A grand day at an estancia - The visit to San Antonio de Areco was very pleasant; the food at El Ombu was very good (they cater to vegetarians!); the horse ride was lots of fun; the folkloric music and dance added to the wonderful day trip from Buenos Aires.

Long Day - would love more time at the ranch! - Picked up approx 845am Drove about an hour to gas station & gift shop (gift shop is good if you want to buy leather items or guacho ponchos) 20 minute stop. Drove another hour to a plaza & church, 15 minute stop. At the ranch approx 12pm Welcome reception with drinks under the shade of the Ombu tree was lovely, empanadas were delicious - best I’ve had yet. The ride is approx 20 minutes, not that long really. On the tour it lists trotting and galloping on the horses. These horses aren’t getting out of a very slow, meandering walk. It’s a walk down a dirt road, into a paddock, around the paddock and back. I suppose it’s novelty for some, but it was very boring. The long lunch was beautiful, this went for about 2 hours, the food was great, their Malbec was incredible, so easy and lovely to drink. After dessert & coffee, we went outside to the garden for some live music and watched a couple dance, following that the group was asked if they would like to join in and dance, it was very entertaining. The horse whispering is a sight to see, and was one of my favourite parts. Back into the bus for 2 hours back about 6.30pm It did feel like the stops were just time fillers while we waited to get to the ranch for our booking time, I would have liked to have gotten to the ranch earlier and maybe taken a walk around or read my book in the beautiful gardens. I can see the stops are not popular with other travellers too. Lorena was a lovely guide, she was very informative about Argentina.

Fun Day on the Range - Fun experience at El Ombu Estancia. Easy drive from Buenos Aires. Personal greeting on arrival and showed to our accommodations, which were very nice. Spacious two qn size beds with real wood fireplace, which they start for you. We spent one night. After settling in, we had delicious empanadas and adult beverages of choice sitting outside under the trees, smelling the delicious lamb which was roasting on the outdoor fire pit. Lunch was served outside at 1:30, many rounds of meat with wine and sides. After a gaucho show with music and dancing, we rode horses, read on the front porch and enjoyed another delicious dinner at 7:30 in the dining room. Staff was super friendly and very accommodating to guests various schedules and needs. I highly recommend this activity. We were told in Buenos Aires by several folks that El Ombu was the best. We agree and enjoyed every minute.
