Highlights
  • Obelisco - After hotel pickup, head to the exclusive waterfront neighborhood of Puerto Madero and step into the 5-star, award-winning Faena Hotel, where the Rojo Tango Show takes place. With a dash of speakeasy flair, you’ll be ushered through a discreet entrance, down a long hall lined with elegant shops and restaurants, and into the cabaret theater.

  • Rojo Tango - Crimson lighting, a mahogany piano and chairs upholstered in rich red velvet add to the sensual atmosphere. If you’ve opted for dinner, arrive 90 minutes before showtime and enjoy a three-course gourmet meal, paired with some of Argentina’s top-quality malbec, chardonnay and sparkling wine (see below for a sample menu.) Or, if you chose the show-only option, slip into your seat in time for the performance and enjoy the provided drinks.

The approx. 90-minute show traces the history of tango, from its origins in cabaret to tango nuevo, made popular by Argentine composer Ástor Piazzolla, who infused jazz and classical music into traditional tango. Watch five couples in period costumes dance stellar choreography, and listen to powerhouse vocalists and the live orchestra. Join in the audience’s fervor during timeless tango favorites like ‘Gallo Ciego’ and ‘La Cumparsita.’

  • Obelisco - After the performance, enjoy convenient transportation back to your downtown or Recoleta-area hotel.

Slick and Sexy - I don't expect to see any better tango dancing than this - stunning. The production is beautifully presented, with gorgeous costumes and tasteful eroticism. I appreciated the presence of live music rather than recorded, and it was lovely to hear the Piazzola pieces included. Full marks.

Classic Tango Experience! - A wonderful experience and even had vegetarian options! Show started at 10:15 and went until 11:30 pm. Recommend doing dinner and the show for the full experience.

Bravo, professional performers - The performance re dancers, musicians and singers were superb, every step and move were so sexy and yet elegant. Costumes were pretty too. Only drawback was the food was at best mediocre.

Brilliant - apart from the bits I didn't get to see! - The transportation, food, wines, service and show were wonderful. Unfortunately, seated on the platform next to the band, I probably had the only seat in the small cabaret room which had the view restricted by a column. This only affected those parts of the show which took place on the bar top (spoiler alert). The seat wasn't sold as restricted view and it only became apparent part way through the show. Otherwise brilliant.

Clearly tourist attraction but done well - Well oiled show and dinner with very well organized transfers. As long as you realise that this is designed for a tourist and has nothing to do with actual tango dances you will enjoy it. We definitely did enjoy it Dinner was just OK.

An excellent show, but partially hidden. - We enjoyed the food and performance. In fact these were much better than expected. The downside was that the configuration of the theater made it virtually impossible to see dancers’ legs and feet. If you aren’t sitting in the front row, your view of the stage is obscured by people sitting in front of you.

Great show, shame about the service - The show itself was fantastic, however the food was average and I had to make my own way to and from a pick-up point as apparently staying in a hotel in Palermo was too much. This meant that late at night I had to find a taxi to get back to my hotel. For the price I paid, which was exorbitant, there was not value for money. I felt ripped off

Rojo tango show - Show was good. Place was very tight and small. Food & service was satisfactory. Hotel pickup was good. We had asked for one hour earlier pickup from our hotel which to our disappointment was not honored. Show price is on the expensive side

2 thumbs down - The experience was not worth the price of the ticket. Our seats were crammed in the back with an obstructed view to the dancers and the band. While the dancers are professionally trained and exceptionally talented, the show was very kitschy. The description of the show on their website and internet didn’t meet expectations.
