Embark on a journey through the winding lanes of Castello’s old quarter, where many city gems can be found. Our path will take us past Medieval Towers, Bastions, the Royal Palace, and the Cathedral as we delve into the history of this magnificent coastal fortress.
Cagliari is a city of ancient origins, tracing back to the Phoenician Karalis and built upon a settlement that dates as far back as the III Millennium b.C.
In Roman times, it served as the island’s capital and during the middle ages, it became the hub of various foreign rulers, the traces of which are still evident today.
Castello’s vantage points offer us indelible views of the city, the sea, Molentargius’ park, and the Devil’s Saddle, all in their full splendor.

Informative, low stress, and friendly! - Our tour guide Francesca was very accommodating and relaxing, even while giving us a very thorough tour of the old city. Given that we had some physical limitations, she recommended stopping for tea after a steep climb, which was lovely. It was very low stress and somehow she kept us on track timewise. She knew so much about Cagliari and answered our hundreds of questions with ease - including personal ones about her family who lived locally for generations. We most enjoyed seeing the fortress towers and the Villanova section of town with plants and flowers lining the narrow streets. Great tour!

Great visual historical tour of the 4 sections of Cagliari - Francesca was outstanding and knew much about her homeland,even dating back to B.C times. She answered every question we through at her, and gave an immense amount of information about Cagliari, even some of her personal viewpoints. She was punctual and courteous as well of an extreme pride for her country!

A beautiful experience - In the name of slowness and sympathy, led by the talented Silvia and despite the humid heat, we really discovered the heart of Cagliari. It is a succession of medieval views and suggestive belvederes in which sumptuous churches and aristocratic mansions are embedded. All within a military architectural construct of high quality. Congratulations to the group of guys of Sardinia Mag. Experts. who passionately offer an efficient tourist product.

Walking Tour with Francesca - Our guide, Francesca, was well-informed and interesting, as well as a great source of recommendations for beaches and local restaurants for the smaller town we were based in. She easily adjusted her pace to suit our (much older!) walking speed.

Fantastic Tour! - Be swept away in the rich history of this ancient city dating back to the Neolithic to its current modern day charm. Our guide Anna was as insightful as she was animated while guiding us though narrow pathways to spectacular vista views. History mixed with folklore made this tour extra special! Thank-you Anna!

Great way to see the city - We were on the walking tour with Francesca. Overall the tour showed a good variety of the old city. The tour guide was very patient with the young child and very knowledgeable about the city’s history. Sometimes it would have been nice to have more recent facts or fun facts. Would recommend this tour.
