A summary of Egyptian history - It is a Museum with a different way of showing the history of an ancient country: brushstrokes that allow us to analyze and present different issues of the cultures of each era. It is essential to go with a guide to understand the sequence and details that each showcase shows. From the pre-Pharaonic period, the different stages of Pharaonic Egypt, the Greek and Roman periods, the emergence of Islam and the reconstruction of modern Egypt. An eclectic, educational and entertaining way to explore this rich history; You can find a tool, a piece of jewelry, a piece of clothing, even prostheses and medical instruments for dentists of the time. Added to this is a central hall, with a cylindrical screen where a colorful projection of this same historical compendium is made. And as icing on the cake, the collection of recovered mummies of pharaohs and their wives, I understand all from the New Kingdom. It is fascinating to see the preparation they received thinking about eternal life, an entire civilization focused behind a religious vision. In this sector you cannot take photos or give explanations.

Unmissable - Less known than the historic Cairo museum and the brand new GEM, but essential for those who want to deepen their knowledge of Egyptian culture and see the over 20 mummies transferred here.

Impressive - The museum is sensational and very full. There is a collection of mummies underground where photos are not allowed. On the ground level the exhibition is sensational. The tip is not to go with a guide or agency. Go alone, there are things to amaze anyone for about 3 hours.

A deeper dive into Egypt's history - A brilliant museum which gives an insight into so much more of eygpts history. There was a wonderful exhibit on the fabrics made in the area which was fascinating. The highlight is still the Royal mummy collection and this was laid out in an atmospheric way as if heading underground to see them in era order. Had lunch with a lovely view over the river.

Worth the visit - The museum is excellent. It has beautiful pieces. And it houses the mummies found in tombs spread across the Egypt. It's worth a visit, even though I don't like mummies!

Fabulous! - Amazing. This museum is such a good teaser for what the Grand egyptian museum will be! The layout is perfect it is not too crowded but also shows off some of the most interesting pieces of not just ancient Egyptian history but also Christian and Islamic history too! The hall of royal mummies was such a crazy thing to behold. Some of the mummies were so well preserved that they still had their eyelashes. No photos are allowed in the royal mummy area, but i think that is a good thing it is a peaceful place for them to be observed respectfully

Safety pin - Magnificent museum, which has the collection of the Royal Mummies as well as exhibiting sensational archaeological pieces. It is worth visiting and it is not as crowded as the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities. Highly recommended.

Very Informative and Interesting Presentation of the History of Egyptian Civilization!y - The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization is certainly an experience - and a very positive one. The building is large, very spacious and the artifacts displayed in a way that the visitor can see up close those artifacts that tell so much about the history of Egypt. Visitors can see up close the mummies and, with some, what their remains actually look like! But, since mummies and pyramids make up such an important part of the Egyptian history, this particular museum also focuses on the people itself and their ways lifestyles. Well worth the trip. The building also quite impressive.

Modern museum with old treasures - We visited this museum with our guide, so he explained everything. We saw lots of valuable exhibits, old statues, sarcophagi, carpets etc. on the ground floor and took many photos. On the basement we couldn’t take photos but we visited the royal mummies which were transported here in the Golden Parade. It was fantastic.

Fascinating History of Egypt - Here you find insight into Egyptian civilazation from prehistory to present day. This large museum overlooks Lake Ain Al-Seera. There are over 50,000 artifacts which include the gold and lapis lazuli bracelets of King Ramses 11. You will also witness Royal Mummies Hall where there are mummies of 20 ancient kings and queens. Best of all the hall contains the mummies of Hatshepsut and Thulmose 111.
