Banff National Park

Johnston Canyon - Begin your adventure in central Banff and embark on a full day of exploration in Banff National Park. Explore Johnston Canyon, a popular hiking trail that follows the canyon and leads to a meadow in the Johnston Valley above. Marvel at the Ink Pots, six blue-green spring-fed pools.

Vermilion Lakes - Venture to Vermilion Lakes, situated just west of Banff in the Canadian Rocky Mountains in the Bow River valley at the base of Mount Norquay. Watch for native wildlife and soak in the stunning scenery.

Cascade Gardens - Visit the Cascades of Time Garden, located behind Banff National Park’s historic administration building at 101 Mountain Ave. Discover a series of cascading ponds and watercourses, highlighted with flowers, shrubs, rustic bridges, pavilions, and flagged walkways.

Banff - Take some time to dine and explore the charming town of Banff, known as the heart of Banff National Park.

Sulphur Mountain - Ride the Sulphur Mountain Gondola and enjoy sweeping views of six mountain ranges, the Bow Valley, and the town from the summit of Sulphur Mountain.

Bow Falls - Visit Bow Falls, where the water tumbles about 30 feet over a low-gradient pitch of channeled bedrock, creating a short, turbulent interruption in the cerulean waters of the Bow River.

Surprise Corner - Stop by Surprise Corner, named for its spectacular views from Buffalo Street. It’s an excellent spot for photos.

Hoodoos Trail - Explore the Hoodoos, tall, thin spires of rock naturally carved by wind and water erosion over thousands of years. The Hoodoos offer incredible panoramic views of the Bow River Valley and the surrounding mountains, with the contrast of these towering rock formations against the backdrop of the Rockies being truly breathtaking.

Columbia Icefield

Castle Junction - The first viewpoint on the way to Columbia Icefield is Castle Mountain, located within Banff National Park in the Canadian Rockies, approximately halfway between Banff and Lake Louise.

Crowfoot Glacier - Named by early explorers for its three sections of ice resembling a crow’s foot, the Crowfoot Glacier sits above Bow Lake, offering stunning photo opportunities despite one of the “toes” having receded.

Bow Lake - Bow Lake is one of the many lakes along the Icefields Parkway and a popular stop for visitors to Banff National Park. The Canadian Rockies are known for their spectacular vistas and lakes. A short walk along the lakeshore trail is family-friendly, or you can enjoy longer hikes around Bow Lake for a more complete day.

Columbia Icefield Discovery Centre - Immerse yourself in an awe-inspiring interpretive experience in one of the world’s most unique ecosystems, featuring ice-capped mountain peaks and vast glacier-formed valleys.

Peyto Lake - Peyto Lake is a glacier-fed lake in Banff National Park. During the summer, glacial rock flour flows into the lake, giving it a unique bright turquoise color. The lake is best viewed from Bow Summit, the highest point on the Icefield Parkway.

Athabasca Falls - Located in Jasper National Park just off the Icefields Parkway on Highway 93A, Athabasca Falls is fed by runoff from the Columbia Icefield and is approximately 32 km southeast of the Jasper townsite.

Jasper National Park

Maligne Canyon - Maligne Canyon in Jasper National Park is a remarkable natural wonder. This deep limestone gorge, carved by the Maligne River over thousands of years, features steep walls and intricate rock formations.

Medicine Lake - Medicine Lake in Jasper National Park is fascinating due to its mysterious disappearance during the summer months, caused by an intricate underground drainage system. Regardless of its water levels, Medicine Lake offers stunning scenery, surrounded by towering peaks, forests, and meadows.

Maligne Lake - Known for its breathtaking beauty, Maligne Lake is the largest glacially fed lake in the Canadian Rockies. Its stunning turquoise-blue waters, surrounded by majestic peaks, create a picture-perfect setting. Visitors might spot bears, elk, mountain goats, and bighorn sheep while exploring the trails or enjoying a cruise tour.

Goats & Glacier Lookout - “Goats & Glaciers” is a scenic area along the Icefields Parkway in Jasper National Park, renowned for its stunning landscapes, including towering peaks, pristine glaciers, and rugged terrain. This area often provides opportunities to spot wildlife like mountain goats.

Lake Louise – Moraine Lake – Emerald Lake - Natural Bridge

Lake Louise - Enjoy the fresh mountain air and learn more about the national park from your guide. Explore trails that wind among the rocks and lead to alpine meadows and sparkling lakes.

Moraine Lake - Be awed by the Rocky Mountains standing tall in the background as you arrive at Moraine Lake. The lake’s deep blue waters, surrounded by towering mountains, create an extraordinary natural formation.

Spiral Tunnels - After visiting Moraine Lake, stop at the Spiral Tunnels on the way to Emerald Lake. These tunnels are an impressive feat of engineering, built to alleviate the steep incline for trains passing through the Rockies.

Emerald Lake - Arrive at Emerald Lake, a freshwater lake in Yoho National Park, British Columbia. The vivid green color of the water is caused by powdered rock from glaciers, reflecting the blue-green spectrum of sunlight. Whether in summer, fall, or winter, Emerald Lake’s beauty is captivating year-round. Take a short walk around the lake to experience its serene beauty.

Natural Bridge - The Natural Bridge is a stunning rock formation sculpted by the powerful forces of water over time. It’s an awe-inspiring sight, showcasing the immense natural beauty and geological marvels found in the park.
