Highlights
  • Battambang Province - The tour begins in the morning at 9:00 am. I can pick you up from your hotel. After a brief introduction, we will start by exploring the city, visiting French colonial buildings, Wat Dom Rey Sor, Lok Ta Dombong Kranhung, the local market, and more.
  • Wat Samrong Knong - Here, we will visit an ancient Buddhist temple built over 300 years ago, which was used as a prison during the Pol Pot regime. I will spend some time explaining the Pol Pot regime and the role of religion. You will also have the opportunity to see The Well of Shadows (killing field), where the remains of victims from the Pol Pot regime are displayed. Thousands of people were killed here. Afterward, we will spend a few hours experiencing the daily life of local villagers, including making bamboo sticky rice, which you can sample as a snack. We will then travel along a small village road to see how locals make rice paper for spring rolls and sample it as well. Next, we will visit the fish paste market (Cambodian cheese) for a short walk and then see how dried bananas are made and taste them.
  • Bamboo Train Battambang - On our way to the bamboo train, we will pass through small villages, fruit farms, a local pagoda, and a suspension bridge. At the original bamboo train station, a ride on the bamboo train costs $5 per person, offering views of small villages and the countryside. Please continue reading for our next destination.
  • Battambang Bat Caves - At Phnom Sampov mountain, you can either hike or take a motorbike up to see the killing cave, a large cannon, a gun, a monastery, and a stupa. The view from the top is one of the most beautiful in Battambang! After visiting the killing caves, we will wait about 5-10 minutes for millions of bats to emerge from their cave. I will share the history of Pol Pot, the killing caves, and the mountain. After the bat cave, I will drop you off at your hotel.

Amazing tour with Great guide! - It was a very nice tour and we had a really sweet guide: Rith! In the morning we went biking and we tasted a lot of Khmer food. (You will be so full at the end haha) We also got to know a bit more about Khmer culture! In the afternoon, after a short break, we got picked up by tuktuk. Rith drove is around the city and showed a lot of cool places like the bamboo train, Chili plants, temples and small bridges. At the end we went to the bath cave and killing cave and watched the baths fly out, it was really cool. Overall super Great experience and amazing local guide. Would definitly recommend!

Bicycle and tuk tuk tour - This was a wonderful whole day tour with our amazing tour guide Bun Nang. First we started with a bike tour through Battambang neighborhood, including local market where Bun Nang showed us what local people sell, then into blacksmith workshop, banana shop, spring rolls workshop where we learned how rice wrappers are made, bamboo sticky rice store, rice fields in the local village, then by tuk tuk into suspension bridge, bamboo train and finally killing cave and bat cave where hundreds of thousands of bats fly out at dusk. I highly recommend it for anyone that likes to explore by biking.

Real local Cambodia - Rith was an amazing tour guide. He is so kind and genuin and explained so many local hand crafts and habits of the people. This was the best tour we have done so far and we could really experience the local Cambodia and see how the people live. We definitely recommend this tour. Thank you Rith!!

We loved cycling around Battambang. Great experience! - We saw the ad on TripAdvisor and after spontaneously calling the contact number, we really easily and quickly had the booking confirmed for the very next day. So after having been picked up at our hotel, we started our bicycle tour around the outskirts of Battambang. It was fantastic. We not only had lots of fun cruising trough the roads but also seeing all of these impressive sights on the side: passing Buddhist temples or visiting families and watch how they produce rice paper or stopping by the fish market. Even despite the Cambodian heat, we really enjoyed the tour :-) We absolutely recommend this half-day trip where you can both experience authentic Cambodian culture and also this beautiful nature and landscape!

Excellent way to see some Cambodian life - Rith was a wonderful guide around the outskirts of Battambang, showing us a few Cambodian crafts and agricultural practices, treating us to sugarcane juice, dried bananas, bamboo rice snacks and always ready with a bottle of water for the hot weather. It was a great tour. Cycling in Battambang seems intimidating at first, but once you realise everyone is quite relaxed and patient it becomes a lot easier to get about. The routes were all nice and flat and cycling is a great way to be able to say hello to everyone you see.

The Best Day - This bike tour lets you see the true Battambang and get a taste of the life of the locals. The tour guide is full of knowledge and spoke very good English. There is a choice of itinerary which leaves the tour in your hands. It was one of my favourite days in Asia and would highly recommend!

Great tuk tuk tour - NOT great bike tour - This tour really should not be offered as a bike tour. Sadly, the guy who ran it passed away a while back and his brother-in-law, Bun, took over the business. Bun is a great English speaking tour guide, but he is not a bike mechanic. The few bikes he had were falling apart, and he had no helmets. After a half mile on the bikes, we huddled for discussion and decided to abort the bike tour and ask for Bun to give us the same tour via tuk tuk. The local livelihood tuk tuk tour was very good, and in the end we were happy customers. Though we did watch the passing bike tours with jealousy as we drove around. There are other bike tour companies in Battambang.
