Highlights
  • Tonle Sap Lake - After we have explored the flooded forests we proceed down further the Kompong Phluk river and onto the Lake proper, at times there are floating villages on the lake, other times they are in the river itself, but which ever time it is its a great way to explore and discover the river and lake systems, when entering the great lake(Tonle Sap) you will be amazed at the actual size, the Great Tonle Sap lake,is huge and goes much further than the eye can see,in fact its over 200km long and from this point over 40km wide,so a great lake in deed, of course the boats we use have a special designed flat bottom so regardless of the time of year we can safely travel and traverse this unique and interesting lake and river system.after this lake cruise,we will head up the river and pass the actual township from another entry and proceed to our transport back into town.

Excellent tour to see the fishing villages on stilts and floating good in wet or dry season. - We visited during the dry season in March and We thoroughly enjoyed today learning more about the different Cambodian villages, seeing a primary school, exploring the fresh meat, fish, fruit/veg markets, saw the stilt homes out of water, and floating homes. Our guide, bus driver and boat driver all were excellent. We were picked up and dropped back to our tour. Recommended tour!

Great day! - Awesome afternoon and evening. Guide was fun and personable. Sunset was spectacular. Rowboat through the submerged forest is optional but don’t say no. It was fascinating. As was the town on stilts. The tuk tuk ride was VERY dusty! It was fun but the dust was everywhere!

Great half-day Siem Reap outing! - We had a fabulous tuk-tuk trip to the lake with Hong. The tour included a walk in a country market, a boat ride on the river & lake, & a half-hour rowboat ride in the jungle waters of the river. We especially enjoyed the tuk-tuk ride instead of a car. Hong is a local who had a lot of knowledge about the area. We learned a lot & enjoyed this 5 hour trip.

Excellent half day trip. - This was a great way to spend half a day if you already have seen the temples. Billy our guide was charming and informative. The highlight was the boat trip through the submerged forest. So serene.

An excellent educational trip - I booked this tour at midnight for my wife & myself ..when arriving late at our hotel, and 8hrs later he was here! Our guide Billy …one of the local tour guides greeted & collected from our hotel the Tara Ankgor at 8.30am. He arranged the Tuk Tuk transportation as we could real life through the country roads & we visited local villages and markets on the way to the lakes. He spoke very good English and was very friendly, knowledgeable & polite. We then got onto boat and visited the floating village, stop off and visited a Temple, and then took a boat ride through to the mangroves! Absolutely stunning…brilliant tour and very educational. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting Siem Reap!

Kompong Phluk, mangroves, Tonle Sap - In a tuk tuk from Siem Reap to the authentic Ro Lus market in Prasat Bakong, where you can find everything you need for your daily needs - vegetables, fruit, meat and fish - unpackaged, just as it comes from the animal. Our guide Mr. Friday picked us up from the hotel and explained everything very well in English. The boat trip to and through Kompong Phluk - unique! Even those who know Venice will be impressed! It is very quiet on the trip through the mangrove forest. If you are lucky, you will see monkeys, like we did. Thank you for the good explanations and background information, Mr. Friday.

Leisurely adventure - Our guide Tuk Tuk driver and boat skipper were all superb. The whole trip was very unhurried. I was disappointed to hear that guides are no longer salaried (since Covid). I would like to see trip advisor supporting more ethical tourism.

A fantastic must-do experience providing valuable insight into Cambodian life. - Our family had a fantastic experience on this tour and were so well looked after by Vanna and Leng. Vanna’s English is exceptional as is his knowledge and passion for the country. He was warm, friendly and very excited to be running tours again after being impacted by COVID-19. We were picked up on time in air conditioned comfort. Loved stopping at the rural market which is one of the best markets I’ve been to, very clean and great range of products. Boating through the village was simply fascinating. We also had the opportunity to get out and walk through, interacting with local kids. The crocodile farm was an unexpected surprise and good fun! I feel this tour gave us so much more insight into life in Cambodia and our trip was definitely enriched. If you’re on the fence about travelling, jump on a plane and support Cambodia! Now is perfect with minimal tourists :)

Horrible! A dusty God forsaken place - No memorable moments or experiences. Nothing like the picture or the description. The place is way too far and does not offer anything in terms of nature or history. A total waste of time and money.
