Highlights
  • Phnom Kulen National Park - Our tour guide will pick you up from your hotel at 8:00 am and take you to purchase a Phnom Kulen ticket. We will then head to Phnom Kulen National Park for approximately 1 hour. This journey takes you through rural Cambodian villages, where you may observe locals going about their everyday lives and admire beautiful landscapes such as rice paddies and traditional dwellings. Stop off at the Palm Sugar Village and witness how Cambodian people make their own sugar to supply their families and villages.

Afterward, we continue to the hilltop of Phnom Kulen, and our knowledgeable local guide will take you to the most spectacular tourist attractions in the national park, including the largest and most beautiful waterfalls, the reclining Buddha sculpture, and the River of Thousand Linga, which was constructed in 802 AD.

  • Beng Mealea - In the afternoon, we will have lunch at the local restaurant before heading to Beng Melea, the mysterious 12th-century temple in the middle of the jungle. This temple is heavily overgrown with vegetation, trees, lianas, and mosses. This temple is surrounded by a rainforest due to it being abundant for over 300 years. When it is not fully restored, many local and international tourists fall in love with the area.
  • Kampong Phluk Floating Village - Continue to Tonle Sap lake, known for its picturesque floating villages. We enjoy a boat ride and observe the local life in the villages with their floating farms, schools, markets, and Buddhist temples.

Note: Tonle Sap Lake and Floating Village are best visited from July to February.

  • Siem Reap - Transfer from Tonle Sap lake to the hotel in Siem Reap city.

Additional Information

Embark on a comprehensive day-long expedition to Kulen Mountain, Beng Mealea, and Tonle Sap lake showcasing gorgeous waterfalls, an enormous reclining Buddha statue, a river with a thousand Lingas, a jungle temple, and a boat journey to a floating village on the biggest lake in Southeast Asia. Experience this private tour that encompasses natural splendors, historic temples, and traditional stilt-house villages…a multitude of diverse and incredible sights and experiences packed into a single day, facilitated by an excellent tour guide.

  • The end of March to the end of June is a crucial time in all the floating villages in Siem Reap, as the water levels start to recede and present a unique opportunity for tourists to experience a new perspective. Although the picturesque landscape of the floating community may lose some of its charm during this time, visitors have a chance to immerse themselves in the daily life of the villagers living in the dried season. While some boats may become stuck, and smaller canoes are unable to traverse the jungle forest, these challenges add to the thrill of the experience. The dry season in floating village of Kompong Phluk may not be the ideal time to visit for those seeking postcard-perfect photos, but it offers a chance to witness a facet of the village’s daily life that is not typically seen. As they say, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. We recommend visitors to embrace this rare chance to witness a different facet of this incredible destination and truly get a different taste of life in the village.

  • What should to bring: Insect repellent, sunscreen, sun hat.
  • For lunch, there is a vegetarian option like fried rice vegetable with eggs and fried spring rolls, but no vegan option.

Incredible experience, highly recommended - The tour was incredible! Our guide Mr.Raman was incredibly thoughtful in making our experience comfortable. Although our trip took place in mid-season, the tour operator never let us lack water, refreshing towels and every kind of comfort. The transportation service was also impeccable. June was a truly magical time to visit this country while avoiding the tourist chaos of the high season.

Amazing day outside the city - This trip was amazing, but the people involved in the company even better - very helpful and friendly! I visited during the low and rainy season, but luckily it was a beautiful weather that day, which made the sightseeing more enjojable 😊. A huge plus was free, cold and unlimited water as well as cold towels - a life saver for the +35 degreees and high humidity. Highly recommend that trip to anyone, worth every penny, and part of the tickets goes to support local community 👍🏻

Enjoyable day trip, especially love Beng Mealea - My guide was Mr Sareik. He was very pleasant and friendly, and very knowledgeable about the sights. Taking a day trip with him was like touring with a local friend. Highly recommend this tour. It’s possible to swim in the waterfall (though I didn’t). Beng Mealea is my all-time favourite temple for its incredible likeness to Laputa, the Castle in the Sky.

Fascinating! - It was supposed to be a small group tour but due to a few cancellations/postponements, it was only me on the tour! Nevertheless, it was absolutely fantastic and the tour guide was very detailed and knowledgeable. The view from the Kulen Mountain was breathtaking and I found the Kampong Phluk floating village fascinating although most of the land was in drought.. I chose not to attend the temple but also enjoyed the food market/village and had a delicious cake made with bananas.

Amazing trip to discover culture and nature around Siem Reap - We were picked up at the hotel right on time in the morning by our guide Mony and Driver Tha to explore Kulen mountain. We headed to wonderful cliffs, a monastery and a heaven-like waterfall where lunch was provided. Beng Mealea is quite remote from the city so this tour is perfect to visit the temple on the way to Tonle Sap. The huge lake had a low water level, however, we were able to do the boat tour through the worth seeing village to the open water. I highly recommend this amazing full day trip to those who want to explore the wider surroundings of Siem Reap.

An incredibly beautiful trip! - Beautiful trip covering a vast variety of places and heritage. Our guide Mony and driver Thy did such a great job! We started off with scrumptious palm cakes (that are accidentally vegan), then to Phnom Kulen National Park where we visited the Wat Preach Angthom, the 1000 lingas, to then a short and sweet lunch picnic (fried rice - no eggs, as the vegan option) with the Kulen Waterfall as the view. Favourite part of the day was visiting the Beng Mealea temple - so surreal. After which we headed to Kompong Phluk, and the rain blessed us. Very well curated package with a versatile selection of places. So glad and grateful; au kun ~
