Seals, Eagles, Culture and More - The tour was absolutely amazing! We saw multiple wales, eagles, seals, otters and sea lions. The guides were very friendly and introduced us to traditional stories, food and nature. I would definitely recommend this experience.

A Beautiful at Church House - Almost as if it was showing us the way, our trip began following an eagle through Seymour Narrows. We got to Church House, a gathered on the beach where Janet told us some of the history of the Homalco people. She is extremely knowledgeable identifying plants and trees, their medicinal properties and practical uses. She told stories, drummed and sang while we wove cedar bracelets at a beautiful look-out spot. On the way back, Kelsie not only found us a humpback whale to view, but also a pod of orcas which satisfied the guests on the boat. What a great day it was. I highly recommend it, and definitely plan to go again in the future.

Life changing tour: Water, land and people, lovely people - What an incredible experience and a must-do for anyone who wants to discover not only the power of nature but also delve into the history of Canada and the Indigenous people. Wow, what an experience. Because a few other people didn't show up, we had the tour just for the two of us, which made it even more special. We truly got to feel the passion of sailing, fished seaweed out of the water, and felt it. We spotted various birds and sea lions along the way. Once we arrived at Church House, the spirit of the past overwhelmed us. The history here is profoundly impressive; the impact of colonization is palpable, yet so is the strength of the people and their spirit that still prevails. Although the land is abandoned, you can feel the hope and love the tribe has for this piece of land. The history here tells a story of the people's passion, their mindful way of living, their resilience after surviving colonization, and the importance of embracing one's language and culture. It was a privilege to experience this so deeply. I'll spare you the harrowing stories of what happened to the women, but when Janet, a 'warrior woman,' sang in her own language, I felt everything I described before, and my eyes couldn't hold back the tears. For anyone interested in wildlife spotting and truly understanding the history of the Indigenous people, I highly recommend booking this tour. For me, it was a life-changing experience.

Best tour - Highly recommend this team - I have been in Kanada, BC for three weeks now and done severall tours. My tour with this team was the best of all. As I was the only person booked on this tour and the minimum number of people was not met, I was contacked and asked if I would like to take another tour. Holly did a great job by facilitating everthing for me and I was smoothly trandferred to the Spring Bear Tour (I hope thats the correct title). The tour was exeptional and Jennet and Ron did an amazing job explaining the area, the culture arounf the differend sites and animals and pointed to the different animals on land and in the water. We saw eagles, dolphins, several bears....and a wunderfull landscape. As the groups are small, it is easy to connect and to talk with the others easily during the tour and creates a nice atmosphere. I appreciate this highly!!! Best wishes from Germany, Katharina

A wonderful and unforgettable experience - The People Water Land tour was a humbling and deeply moving experience. Our guides, Janet and Ron, shared some of their Homalco nation’s history and culture with such grace and generosity. It was a real honour to be invited to Aupe. To hear it’s story through Janet and Ron has given me a much needed insight into the history of this area. We can’t wait to come back again and learn more. The trip includes a nature and whale watching experience along the way, and the most beautiful landscape. i:mote to everyone at Homalco Tours.

Thank you for sharing your culture - The staff were amazing. Callie and Al were the best tour guides. The boat was comfortable and perfect for the trip. I really appreciate Callie sharing her stories, songs and culture with us. The wildlife definitely accommodated us and we had amazing sightings of whales.

excellent cultural and nature activity in beautiful Desolation Sound - We had a wonderful day with our guides - they were friendly and enthusiastic. The cultural stories, and learnings were very important, and interesting. This area of Desolation Sound is spectacularly beautiful, and it was so meaningful to learn more about one of the nations who has lived here for time immemorial. We saw a bear on the beach we were meant to land on and the guides were careful and aware of how to ensure we could see the village site safely.

A genuinely enriching cultural tour - We were hoping to do the bear tour, but discovered we were a week too early and would be back in the UK by the time of the first bear tour of the season. So, we decided to do the People Water Land tour, as we are interested to learn more about First Nations culture. We absolutely loved our trip! Cassie & Ron were excellent guides, explained about marine culture and wildlife, as well as their own culture and traditions. On the boat journeys to and from Aupe we slowed and stopped several times, seeing humpback whales, Orcas and dolphins from a safe distance (for us and them). When we reached Aupe, we could get straight off the landing craft and it was fascinating to see and hear about how life in the territory was until the mid 1960s from Cassie and Ron’s first-hand memories and experiences. We had the opportunity to make a Cedar bracelet and listen to Cassie singing a song for missing women and girls. This trip comes highly recommended and will leave you with lasting memories!

An Experience of a Lifetime. I highly recommend this company. - I was so fortunate to have won this trip and what a perfect gift. I brought a friend along, who also had never been on any excursions before, and we had the best time. The staff are so wonderful and helpful. We saw 6 humpback whales, sea lions, seals, bald eagles, a black bear, and stunning scenery. We learned about the history of Church House and learned about the plans for the future. It was truly magical. I cannot thank this company enough for giving me this opportunity and this gift. I definitely recommend them and I look forward to when I can attend the grizzly bear excursion. Cassie, Ron and Sharon, thanks so much! I apologize in advance for the lousy photos. I think after this experience it is worth purchasing a new one.
