On the way to the Mekong Delta, you can enjoy the endless green or yellow paddy rice fields on both sides of the road. Alternatively, you can take a nap during the transfer to recharge and fully enjoy the tour.

After about a 3-hour drive from Saigon via the express highway, we will arrive at Cai Rang Floating Market in Can Tho City.

We will then take a private boat to visit Cai Rang Floating Market, one of the most famous and largest floating markets in the Mekong Delta. From early morning, countless boats and sampans gather here, making the area lively and stunning. Large boats are filled with farm products and specialties like vegetables, grapefruit, coconut, banana, watermelon, dragon fruit, and rambutan, while smaller boats mainly sell food, coffee, light snacks, Vietnamese noodles, soft drinks, etc., for breakfast. It would be a pity not to stop by and purchase something.

Afterward, our tour guide will take you to some traditional workshops where you can learn how locals make ‘Hu Tieu.’ The talented chef Gordon Ramsay once said that the bowl of noodles he ate at Cai Rang Floating Market had one of the best broths he has ever tasted.

At 11:00 am, we will leave Can Tho City and head to Cai Be (Tien Giang Province) for a cooking class.

In the cooking class, you will gain a different perspective on the cooking style in the South of Vietnam and learn how locals prepare traditional meals. You will also experience the tranquility, simplicity, and rusticity of daily life in the Mekong region. You might even notice the different local tastes within Vietnam: Northern people prefer salty flavors, Central Vietnamese enjoy spicy dishes, and Southern cuisine is generally sweeter.

After enjoying the delicious lunch you cooked, it will be the perfect time to relax on comfortable hammocks under the shade of tropical fruit trees to recharge your energy.

You will never forget the precious moments of biking through car-free village roads lined with tropical fruits and bonsai gardens, as well as visiting nearby handicraft workshops to get a deeper sense of the real Mekong atmosphere.

Next, we will relax on a rowing boat and go through the mangrove palm canal to experience the peaceful atmosphere of the Mekong Delta and learn more about the locals’ lifestyle by chatting with friendly rowing women. Additionally, you will enjoy the melodies of South Vietnam folk music.

At 03:30 pm, we will return to Saigon, concluding the Cai Rang Floating Market in Can Tho 1 Day tour.
