Highlights
  • Cape Town Central - Our day will kick off with a pickup either at our designated meeting point or directly from your hotel in or around the City of Cape Town, starting at around 6:50 am.

The mode of transportation for the pickup will be determined based on the group size, ranging from a sedan, SUV, or a mini-bus.

  • Stony Point Penguin Colony - We embark on our journey along the N2 towards Stony Point, where we’ll have the remarkable opportunity to observe African colony Penguins up close. This site hosts one of the largest penguin colonies in Africa.

Stony Point Penguin Colony stands as a testament to one of the world’s most successful breeding grounds for African Penguins.

Located in the quaint coastal town of Betty’s Bay in the Overberg, the Stony Point Nature Reserve is home to a unique colony of African Penguins. It offers the public the chance to see these wonderful flightless birds up close, via the boardwalk through the colony, which allows the public to observe the penguins go about their daily activities in their natural habitat, without disturbing or disrupting them.

  • Hamilton Russell Vineyards - From there, we will travel towards the Hermanus where you will enjoy a wine tasting at one of the estates in the Hemel-en-Aarde wine region.

Benguela Cove Lagoon Wine Estate– one of the most southerly wine Estates in Africa and one of the closest to the sea – pioneered viticulture and winemaking in the beautiful, cool, maritime Hemel-en-Aarde Valley appellation, just behind the old fishing village of Hermanus.

  • Hermanus - Next, we’ll venture to the charming town of Hermanus for a lunch break (at your own expense) and leisurely exploration. You can opt to stroll through the town or along the seaside. During whale season, there’s also the option for whale-watching.

Initially established as a farming community, Hermanus has evolved into a vibrant holiday destination. Situated on the picturesque Walker Bay, this sun-kissed town offers a plethora of attractions. From the spectacle of whales and Great White Sharks to the unparalleled beauty of the world’s most diverse Floral Kingdom, Hermanus boasts mountain trails, pristine beaches, serene forests, and enchanting lagoons. Not to mention the hidden valley so exquisite it’s dubbed ‘Heaven and Earth’. Gearings Point features captivating public art and sculptures, adding to the artistic allure of the town’s numerous galleries along the art walk route

  • Cape Agulhas - Southernmost Tip of Africa - After lunch, make your way to Cape Agulhas, where you will walk the pathway that leads to the official meeting point of the two oceans (Indian and Atlantic oceans) and take some pictures.

  • Cape Agulhas Lighthouse - Following that, we’ll proceed to visit the Agulhas lighthouse, a renowned South African landmark that stands as one of the oldest in the country. Situated at the southernmost tip of Africa, it offers a fascinating glimpse into maritime history.

A lighthouse at Cape Agulhas was suggested by Colonel Charles Collier Michell, the Surveyor-General of the Cape, in March 1837. A public meeting at Cape Town on 11 July 1840 resolved to raise funds for the construction of the lighthouse, and Michiel van Breda, the founder of Bredasdorp, offered to donate the land on which it was to be built.

  • Caledon - After exploring the Agulhas National Park, We will head back to CapeTown city for a drop off at your accommodation at approximately 18:00 pm.

Caledon is famous for its hot springs, discovered by the early Khoi-Khoi people before the Europeans attributed healing properties to the iron-rich waters and opened a sick house and later a sanatorium, which was destroyed by fire. The seven springs, one of which is cold and the other six thermal, are warmed by contact with rocks heated by pressure deep under the ground to a steady temperature of 49.5° Celsius. Interestingly, the waters of Caledon are also free of any organic matter and when submitted, in 1893, to the Chicago World Fair, they were awarded first prize as the world’s top quality mineral waters.
