Highlights
  • Bo-kaap - A Stop here at Bo-Kaap of approximately 20 minutes and quick walk with your personal guide driver to discover these beautiful colourful houses and the history behind them and the area.
  • Maidens’ Cove - This is what we call the Kodak moment of the tour, prepare your cameras for the most beautiful photos of your Cape Town memories, with a panoramic view of Lion’s head, Table Mountain, Camps Bay Beach, Clifton and the Twelve Apostles Mountains range. Dolphins, Whales and Seals can be spotted here. The stop at this beautiful Cove will leave you breathless.
  • Hout Bay Beach - No Cape of Good Hope or Cape Point also known as Cape Peninsula Private Tour will be considered complete without a Stop at this fishing harbour . The best fish and chips can be purchased here for a sit down or take away. Here you will find one of the biggest souvenir and gift market where you can bargain for the price of any item. But the main attraction is the boat trip to the Seal Island Colony where you will see thousands of Cape Fur Seals. We do not recommend to take the boat trip when the Sea condition is bumpy unless you can handle the sea sickness.
  • Chapman’s Peak Drive - This is one of the most beautiful scenic route in the World. We will stop here for photos opportunity. A quick guided walk will be allowed for approximately 5 minutes. Please stay in the safe walking demarcated areas
  • Cape Point Vineyards Tasting Room - A trip to the Cape of Good Hope for Wine Lovers will not be considered complete if you skip a stop at Cape Point Vineyard. Some of the best white cultivars in South Africa such as sauvignon blanc, shardonay and other varieties are crafted right here. The views of the mountains and Ocean are spectacular . We highly recommend a quick stop here for wine tasting. This is an optional Stop and Cost for wine tasting is ZAR 50 per adult and can taste up to 6 different wines.
  • Just Nuisance - Our next Stop will be in the Town of Simon’s Town, which is the base of South African Navy Forces, and home to a Great Dane, which made history in this beautiful village .

Just Nuisance was the only dog ever to be officially enlisted in the Royal Navy. He was a Great Dane who between 1939 and 1944 served at HMS Afrikander, a Royal Navy shore establishment in Simon’s Town, South Africa. He died in 1944 at the age of seven years and was buried with full military honours.

You could also go for lunch in the area with options ranging from Take Aways and sit down restaurants, alternatively, lunch could be taken either at Boulders Beach, Black Marlin(Sea Food) or at the Cape of Good Hope.

  • Boulders Beach Penguin Colony - Our Next stop is at the famous Boulders Beach home to some 2500 pairs of endagered African penguins. On this Tour, weather permitting, Guests are allowed to go swim with the penguins at own entrance fees account (ZAR 120 per adult) and we recommend that you bring a swimwear and towels should you wish to stop for a swim.

Boulders Beach which is next to Simon’s Town has a lot going for it: the ancient granite boulders protect it from the wind and large waves, unlike any other beach in Cape Town making it an ideal swimming spot for kids, moms and toddlers. The city of Cape Town is always keep the beach very clean and safe, as this along the Cape of Good Hope are part of Table Mountain National Park Marine Protected Area. The beach itself is not always very busy or over crowded , and children find it easy to swim in the beautiful rockpools. But the soft white sand and warm(ish) waters are not the only reasons why thousands of visitors a year make their way along the coast, past Simon’s Town, to Boulders Beach. The local inhabitants in their beautiful black and white colours, the African penguins bring the masses to visit Boulders Beach one of the biggest Penguin colony in South Africa.

  • Cape of Good Hope - This is the highlight of the tour as we are now entering a national park for some spectacular sightseeing. The Cape of Good Hope is a rocky headland on the Atlantic coast of the Cape Peninsula in South Africa. A common misconception is that the Cape of Good Hope is the southern tip of Africa. This misconception was based on the misbelief that the Cape was the dividing point between the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. This is the meeting place of the two currents , the cold Benguela and the warm Agulhas. Prepare those Cameras for the souvenir photos behind the famous wooden board of Cape of Good Hope. An optional hike of up to 40 minutes from the Cape of Good Hope to the lighthouse will be allowed. Your guide will escort you half way to show you the safest way and he/she will drive around to meet you on the other side. The lighthouse can be accesible by way of using the Dutchman Funicular at own cost of ZAR 80 per adult and ZAR 40 per child for a return trip. Alternatively a hike up from the lower station of the historic lighthouse to the upper station is approximately 20 minutes.
  • Cape Point Nature Reserve - Within the reserve, your expert tour guide will explore with you the following historic sites, the Vasco Da Gama cross or Pradao, The Dias Cross or Pradao, with full history explanation, a drive into different areas to search for wildlife such as Bontebok, Baboons, Ostriches, Giraffes, Eiland, Tortoise etc…
  • Scarborough Beach - We will drive back to Cape Town via the scenic route of Scarborough, Misty Cliffs, Kometjie, Long Beach, Nordhoek, with two options, guests to choose Muizenberg or the latest route of OuKapse Weg (Old Cape Road), drive pass the notorious maximum Polsomore prison when the Father of our Nation Nelson Mandela spent some 7 years in Jail part of his 27 years in custody. First trip to S Africa - This is an experience of a lifetime. Our guide Djiby Mbaye is knowledgeable and very patience with us. Cape Peninsula has so much to offer and we exceeded the time allowed on all our stops. He is understanding and accommodative. We spent 2.5 hours at Cape of Good Hope alone. I would highly recommend private tour if you want to go at your own pace, like we do. Djiby even gave us a bonus stop at ostrich farm.

Great day on our first time to Cape Town - We had a great day in Cape Town with Djiby, our driver and guide! It was our first time in Cape Town and this tour was a wonderful way to experience the area in a relaxed and private way. We were promptly picked-up from the cruise port. From there we drove along the coast to a small fishing harbor at Hout Bay (with several scenic stops along the way). There we boarded a boat which we took to Seal Island to see Cape Fur Seals. It was an exciting ride with a beautiful view of the coastline and an up-close look at the seals. After returning to the harbor we drove along Chapman Peak Drive to Table Mountain National Park, the Cape of Good Hope and the Cape Point Lighthouse (special thanks to Djiby for helping with the line for pictures at the Cape of Good Hope 🙂). After a delicious and leisurely lunch at the Two Oceans Restaurant (what a beautiful view!) we drove to Boulder Beach to see the Penguin Colony (they were so cute). By then, it was late afternoon and we made our way safely to our hotel. Djiby was an excellent host! So knowledgeable about the area and always willing to share that knowledge and his experiences living in Cape Town. Thanks for a day!

Highly recommend! - Our tour guide was Alex and he was so attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. We were picked up from our hotel by Alex in a new, comfortable Mercedes GLC. We’re not the biggest lovers of tours (especially group ones) but this private tour was perfect for us as we spent a good amount of time in each destination, and we saw everything we wanted to see in the Cape Peninsula. The tour lastest around 8 - 9 hours. Alex took plenty of photos for us during the entire tour, and we were lucky enough to see wild zebra and ostrich in the Cape Point National Park, together with baboons. Would definitely recommend this trip!

Great day trip! - Excellent way to see the peninsula without feeling like you’re being herded like cattle as you would on a big tour bus. Our private vehicle was nice and our drive/guide was wonderful!

A Fantastic Tour! - My group of 18 had an incredible day tour with our fantastic guide, Morne and driver, David! We saw so many beautiful sites in one day complete with Cape of Good Hope, the Penguins and Table Mountain! Morne was so informative and fun! So glad that I booked with Beyond Africa Safaris. We had an additional tour to Stellenbosch the following day and airport transfers. It was one stop shopping and very reliable! Thank you, Morne for a memorable trip! The booking process was extremely easy, and Amy, my booking contact, was very communicative. Great tours and a great experience for my entire group!
