Highlights
  • Maiden’s Cove Braai Area - The first stop on this 5-hour half-day tour is Maiden’s Cove. Take in the breathtaking views of the Atlantic seaboard and marvel at the majestic Twelve Apostles Mountain range, Camps Bay beach, and the luxurious penthouses of both international and local residents.
  • Chapman’s Peak Drive - Next, we proceed to Chapman’s Peak Drive, arguably one of the finest marine drives in the world! With stunning ocean views set against a mountain backdrop, each turn offers a new, awe-inspiring sight.
  • Boulders Beach Penguin Colony - This is the tour’s highlight. Your guide will provide an overview of the area and give you plenty of time to explore the beach. You’ll learn about the endangered African penguins that inhabit the beach. These penguins roam freely and are comfortable around humans. Observe them from a designated viewing point as they go about their day.

Enjoy some free time to relax on the beach or explore the surrounding landscapes. On sunny days, take a dip in the refreshing waters.

  • Boyes Drive - After hours of exploration, enjoy the coastal drive back to Cape Town with a stop at Boyes Drive in Muizenberg, which offers stunning views of the False Bay coast. It’s also a great spot to watch both local and international surfers tackle Cape Town’s waves.

Penguins and Boulder/rock climbing/dodging - Chris was out tour guide and he did a good job. Very interactive with his narration. If you have a wild card, you dont have to pay for the entrance fee to see the penguins. Also if you have some athletic skills you could make it all the way to the beach and climb around boulders for pictures. Keep that in mind so you dont rush back and injure yourself. (But not the yhe same beach as the penguins, i think)

Wow moments in an half a day. Time well spent. - It was an unforgetable experience! Bizo was an amazing tour guide. Knows the city really well and planned a few stops on our way to the penguins that were worth seeing. I went solo but made cool friends with the other travelers. We all became instant friends. Best part is you get back in time for lunch or to continue other sightseeing. I highly recommend it! The pengiuns are very close to you and watching them interact with one another is precious. But watching them wobbling down the hill is the cutest thing I've ever seen.

Amazing Experience viewing Penguins at Boulder Beach - I had an incredible experience on the Penguin Encounter Boulders Beach tour, and I highly recommend it! Our guide, Bizo, was exceptionally nice and accommodating, making the journey even more enjoyable. One thing to keep in mind is that the park itself does not accept Rands for entry, and while the tour primarily covers the drive to the destination, it’s absolutely worth it. Bizo provided fascinating insights into Cape Town’s rich history and took us to several scenic stops along the way, offering breathtaking views. The combination of great service and spectacular landscapes made this tour truly memorable!

Cape Town to Boulders Beach Penguin Colony and beautiful beach stops along the way! - Chris picked us up at our hotel and off we went for Boulder Beach and the penguins!! We stopped to see some of the most beautiful and picturesque beaches along the way. Chris also told the stories and history of all we saw along the drive. It was an interesting half day and I wasn’t expecting to see some of the note beautiful beaches in the world. Thanks, Chris for a wonderful tour.

Great half day trip! - This was a great way to see the highlights farther from Cape Town city center. The penguins are so worth the trip, and the photo stops were all beautiful. Chris was an excellent and knowledgeable guide, highly recommend!

Penguin Tour Sep 5th 2024 - The trip day itself with Kenzi tour was excellent. Patrick, our tour guide showed up very on time. It was a small group and he drove along the shore and explained about history, townships and all locations the entire time. He also explained about city’s history on our way back and volunteered to take pictures of tourists. The only reason I didn’t write an excellent review is because I had to reach out to tour to get the pick up location and time the day before trip and their local number was disconnected. When i emailed through Viator and contacted viator customer support , agency responded to share my WhatsApp contact. That pre trip communication was not so great, but everything got set up before the trip. Clients should not initiate the travel itinerary communication. Tour agency should reach out to clients beforehand.

Good tour needs better communication! - The tour itself was good, especially seeing so many Penguins and Capybara. Due to weather we were not able to go on the scenic drive. Communication needs work. We understand that there were different experiences on this tour, after the fact. In other words, apparently some of the group had access to Cape of Good Hope and others only to Boulders Beach. Our driver should have said something to the group so we were aware because when we all got out of the van he said to meet at this Gelato spot in 2 hours (we arrived at 10am). So, we did as instructed and waited until 12:40 when we called the tour company who called the driver and then he and 3 of the group returned and that is when we learned they went to Cape of Good Hope. At this point it was pouring and we were without umbrellas.
