Highlights
  • Bo-kaap - Travelers will have a fantastic photo opportunity with the vibrant, colorful houses. The guide will share a brief history of the Cape Malays, whose homes were built and leased to slaves. These individuals were brought from various parts of East Africa, including Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Sri Lanka, and Java, to work as slaves.

  • Sea Point - Drive past Sea Point and Bantry Bay, nestled at the foothills of Lion’s Head mountain. This affluent suburb is renowned for its wind-free status, boasting over 250 wind-free days a year, which is significant given Cape Town’s typically windy climate. Pass by Clifton, a prestigious neighborhood known for its expensive real estate and some of the best beaches near Cape Town. The four Clifton beaches are naturally divided by granite boulders. Travelers will stop at Camp’s Bay Beach after a 25-minute drive.

  • Camp’s Bay Beach - Stop at Camps Bay, Maiden’s Cove for Instagram and Facebook photos with stunning views of the Twelve Apostles in the background. This is one of the best places in Cape Town for panoramic photos of the ocean, Camps Bay Beach, combined with views of Table Mountain, Lion’s Head, and the beautiful suburbs of Clifton and Camps Bay. We call this the Kodak moment.

  • Bakoven Beach - From Camp’s Bay, known as the Beverly Hills of Cape Town and an upscale residential area, famous for being one of the most photogenic sites in the world. Enjoy the majestic sunset, the perfect destination for sundowners. Drive to the Atlantic seaboard of the peninsula past Llanduno, known as the home of European celebrities. Pass Hout Bay, situated in the valley of the Atlantic seaboard of the peninsula, a town known for its thriving fishing community with a lovely fishing factory. We will stop at the famous Hout Bay Harbour, which should take about a 30-minute drive.

  • Seal Island - Travelers will stop at Hout Bay Harbour, where you may hop on an optional ferry ride and embark on a 45-minute scenic journey to an island inhabited by more than 5,000 Cape fur seals. You will see the seals from the land if you are not comfortable taking the ferry ride. You may spend some time exploring the craft market during the ferry ride.

  • Chapman’s Peak Drive - We will stop at Chapman’s Peak Drive, a mountainside road locally known as Chappies. Chapman’s Peak is an engineering marvel that meanders for 10 km along the giant Chapman’s Peak mountains, which seem to drop into the ocean like an avalanche. Travelers will have the opportunity to stop at the viewing point for photographs and enjoy the views of the Atlantic Ocean, lovely cliff edges, and spectacular landscape.

  • Noordhoek Farm Village - We will continue our coastal journey and stop in Noordhoek, with breathtaking views of Noordhoek and Long Beach beneath us. Travelers will have the option to enjoy some of the best coffee brewed in Cape Town at the Village Roast at their own expense.

  • Ocean View - From Noordhoek, which is an Afrikaans word translated into English as “North Corner,” initially a farm where farmers planted fruit and vegetables to supply the ships sailing from Simon’s Town. Pass by the non-white community of Masipumelele and Ocean View. Our journey will continue through a scenic road with lovely views of the White Sands Beach through Misty Cliffs and Scarborough for about an hour and stop at an ostrich farm.

  • Cape Point Ostrich Farm - Travelers will make a quick stop at the ostrich farm to see the largest bird on the planet. The guide will share a short commentary about these flightless birds.

  • Cape Point Nature Reserve - Cape Point Nature Reserve is home to the most southwestern corner of Africa (Cape of Good Hope). Rich in fauna and flora, this place is a biodiversity hotspot. You can enjoy the views from the comfort of the vehicle or on foot.

Stop At: Old Cape Point Lighthouse, Cape Point Nature Reserve, Cape Point, South Africa

Walk or take an optional funicular (at your own cost) up to the oldest lighthouse for a 360-degree view of the national park. The old lighthouse was launched in 1860 but was decommissioned 40 years later after studies showed its high altitude posed a danger to sailors around the cape as they couldn’t see it in cloudy weather. A new lighthouse was built in 1919 at a much lower altitude.

  • Cape of Good Hope - Travelers will head to the Cape of Good Hope. The guide will explain the beautiful history of why it’s called the Cape of Good Hope and clarify the misconception from our teachers. It’s known as Cape Point, the most southwestern point of the African continent, where the cold Benguela current from the Atlantic Ocean meets the warm Agulhas current of the Indian Ocean. Travelers will have an opportunity to take Instagram or Facebook photos at the signboard.

  • Boulders Beach Penguin Colony - Our next stop will be the penguin colony at Boulders Beach, where your guide will escort you to the viewing point to see some of the 2,500 breeding pairs of African Penguins (jackass penguins) up close. You may even find one or two of these endangered penguins walking alongside you on the boardwalk. Travelers will be given a meeting point after visiting.

  • Simon’s Town - Travelers will head to Simon’s Town Waterfront, named after the 11th commander of the Dutch East India Company in the 17th century, who found this town as a lee-shore in winter. The Victorian-built town is home to some of the freshest seafood and fish restaurants in Cape Town. This is also the town where the South African Navy is based. Travelers will have a chance to stop for lunch (food and drinks at their own expense) for 1 hour.

  • Fish Hoek - After lunch, travelers will take an afternoon drive back to Cape Town, passing by Fish Hoek, also known as Fish Corner, which was considered a dry area. Kalk Bay fishing village is situated on the east side of the peninsula along False Bay. The village lies between the ocean and the sharply rising mountainous heights of Table Mountain Sandstone. The drive will take 30 minutes, heading to Muizenberg.

  • Muizenberg - A quick stop at Muizenberg, where travelers will see the colored beach huts from the top of the mountain. The beach huts are used as changing rooms and are reminiscent of the “bathing machines” of the 1800s, which were cart-like structures wheeled down to the water’s edge, allowing ladies to change into their bathing costumes. You will also have a chance to see the shark spotters.

  • Cape Town Central - Thereafter, travelers will head back to downtown, passing by Tokai, where Mr. Nelson Mandela served 7 years of his prison sentence, and past Constantia with lovely views of vineyards. The drive to downtown will take about 30 minutes, and travelers will be dropped off at their hotel.

Fantastic Tour with the best tour guide! - Awesome experience. Perfect for those with limited time but still want to cover all the key sites in Cape Town. The guide Amando was simply excellent - very informative, respectful and knowledgeable. He ensured the group was timely at each location but still gave us plenty time to explore everything. We always felt safe and he had a careful/ watchful eye of the group. Amando is an excellent guide, a careful driver and a calm and friendly person. We Never felt uncomfortable or anxious. The tour itself was perfect. My friend and I were 2 women travelling together and it was the perfect way to do it. The group was small just 11 of us and the vehicle was clean and space to accommodate us all comfortably. The tour is little hectic as you cover all the sites in a day. We were picked up on time 7:40 and we returned just after 6pm. I would highly recommend this tour. For the price it was value for money. We did the additional excursions of boat cruise to Seal Island, Cape Point, Penguin colony. I couldn’t recommend both Xcitment tours and Amando more highly.
