Fun drive and great wine - A nice ride through wine country. We went to three tasting rooms along the way. Nice that they all had an area set up for our group. It was fun talking wine with the people who actually produce it.

Kombi Carmel Valley Wine Tour - We had a great time on the Kombi Wine Tasting Tour. Steve was so knowledgeable and friendly. We never felt rushed and he was flexible when we asked to stop for something to eat. Can’t recommend enough!

Great Day Exploring and Wine Tasting! - This was a great tour. Steve was both personable and knowledgeable. He shared his love for the Carmel/Monterey area and took us to three great wine tasting rooms. We had a blast riding around in his VW Bus and enjoyed learning about the region and the wine in the area. I would highly recommend this tour, the four of us had a great time.

Best day in Monterey! - Steve picked us up on time and explained every tasting room we were going to visit that day. The VW van was amazing and fun to ride in. He provided a beautiful charcuterie tray which he brought to us at every tasting room. Such a great day! Thank you, Steve!

Quite the Afternoon! - I must say that Steve was the most wonderful tour guide! He was full of interesting tidbits of info about each location that we visited. He also provided the most scrumptious charcuterie tray, full of cheeses, fruits, chocolates, nuts and candied orange peel. There was more than enough for the two of us and we noshed all afternoon on it. The first tasting room, Corral Wine Co., was by far the best of the three. The wines were superb and even more impressive was the service that the owner showed us. I felt like royalty as we sat in the tasting room, sipping on amazing sauvignon blancs, chardonnays and pinot noirs, among others. I ordered a few bottles of the Sauvignon blanc to enjoy when we get home. The other two tasting rooms, Kori and Puma, were more of a disappointment to me. And yes, I know wine is very subjective but these just didn’t measure up to the wines at Corral. The service was not as attentive and the wines not as impressive. Had I been the tour leader, I would have begun with Kori or Puma and ended with the Corral Wine Co. Lastly, the biggest surprise was the way the tasting rooms operate. You aren’t going to wineries for a tour of the winery as the title suggests but to specific storefront operations that serve wine tastings for a fee. The fee varies, depending on how many wines you choose to taste. Corral charged $28 for 6 different wines, waving the fee for one person if you bought at least 2 bottles of wine. This fee is your responsibility, and is not included in the $185/person fee for the tour. That totally surprised me when I learned it as I thought it should have been included. Or, maybe the fees should have been discounted for us as tour participants. Had I learned this or understood this difference before I booked the tour, I probably wouldn’t have booked it. After paying for two people for the tour, and three tasting, we spent about $500 for the afternoon. Of course that did not include the wine I purchased. Sorry Steve but this was a very expensive afternoon that did not seem like a good value to me.

Communication failure!! - After waiting over one hour for our driver, Steve, we finally contacted Viator, who tried calling him and left him an urgent email. We also left him a voicemail and an email. He never responded so we called Viator again to start the refund process. As we were speaking with the representative, Steve called me. He said the bus had a broken fan belt and that he had been trying to locate one and then realized he had a spare?! At no time did he try and reach out to us. He offered to still take us to two wineries because there was no time to see all three, but we declined. He was going to be another 20 minutes before he could pick us up, so we didn’t want to waste more of our short weekend. He apologized and offered a discount for next time but we will not chance it again. We don’t travel much and when we do, we try to make good use of our time. We understand things happen and we are very reasonable people. The issue here was the lack of communication. He had my cell number and my email…..
