Mermaid Pool epitomises the beauty of nature and is an idyllic location for those passionate about nature. The journey commences from the Matura River situated in the north-eastern region of Trinidad. On the route, you’ll encounter numerous interesting pools and gorges, along with the limestone formations scattered along the path. Following a trek of 35 minutes, let the calming scenery captivate your senses. The tour’s second leg will introduce you to the Caroni Bird Sanctuary, which is home to a diverse range of species including birds, mammals, reptiles, and other wildlife. As dusk falls, make sure to look out for the star attraction of the swamp, the Scarlet Ibis. These birds retreat to the swamp in the evening after their day-long feeding activity, thus forming a splendid display of colours. Note that bookings require a minimum of two people, however, we can facilitate a single person at an additional 50 percent of the total cost.
