The best way to enjoy your time in Cartagena is to combine salsa and champeta dance classes with a tour of Cartagena City and some shopping.

Experience something unique in Cartagena de Indias, the land of salsa and champeta, by learning how to dance to these vibrant rhythms.

Starting from the dock, we’ll head to the old city where expert instructors will teach us the ‘Caribbean expression’ through salsa and champeta.

At the end of our lesson, we’ll select the student who made the most progress and reward them at our shopping destination with a silver emerald pendant, the ‘Emerald coffee bean pendant.’

We’ll then stroll through the old city, taking in its beauty and listening to our guide share its history. Our walk will conclude at the Dungeons or Troops Quarters, where 23 different stores showcase a variety of Colombian handicrafts and a stunning collection of the world’s finest emeralds.

We’ll have 45 minutes for shopping before returning to the port.
