Highlights
- Carvalho Beach - We start at the serene and secluded Carvalho Beach with a safety briefing and instructions. To access the beach, we descend through an ancient carved tunnel in the rock. Here, we can admire the rock tower off Carvalho’s waters and its curving limestone walls.
- Praia de Benagil - After leaving Carvalho, we visit some hidden caves along the way, eventually reaching the bustling Benagil Beach, where we can observe the village’s historic fishing past.
- Benagil Cave - Just after Benagil Beach, we arrive at the famous Benagil Cave. We’ll stop to take stunning photos of the renowned “sinkhole” and learn about the historical, geological, and ecological significance of the Algarve region. After the guide’s explanations, you can explore the cave on your own or follow the guide to discover some hidden fossils. After about 30 minutes, we continue our adventure, exiting the cave with the guide’s assistance.
- Praia da Marinha - After leaving Benagil Cave, we paddle towards Marinha Beach, visiting more hidden caves and sinkholes along the way. Upon reaching Marinha Beach, we pass beneath the famous Arches of Marinha and stop for fantastic photos. Then, we paddle back towards Carvalho Beach.
- Leixão do Ladrão - If time permits and depending on the group, we visit the “Island of the Smuggler.” Here, we enter a massive tunnel inside this rock formation and observe two beautiful holes in the ceiling, known as “the blue eyes.” Photos will be taken.
- Farol de Alfanzina/Alfanzina Lighthouse - After exiting the tunnel of the “Island of the Smuggler,” we can admire the lighthouse in all its glory. We then head back to the beach, which is just five minutes away from this point. Photos will be taken.

Perfect morning kayak tour - Such an amazing experience! Our tour guide, Egas, was so knowledgeable, patient and fun! Would highly recommend the 7am sunrise tour.

Really worth it - Great tour! The guide was attentive, funny, knowledgeable and helpful at all times. Beautiful sites. And Carvalho beach was paradise! 100% recommend!

Great experience - The tour guides were super friendly and kind. I would definitely do it again, a very good opportunity to explore the caves at a quiet time away from the crowd.

Great time! - Lovey couple of hours visiting a few caves. Small group tour which was nice. The tour guide Caio was very knowledgeable and friendly. Steep (short) walk to the beach.

Benagil by sunrise - We thoroughly enjoyed our sunrise kayak tour with Francisco. The teens in our group were dubious of the early AM start, but it was perfect. The kayaks were comfortable, and the water was calm and easy to navigate. We arrived at Benagil Caves and only one other group was there, allowing us to explore without feeling rushed or crowded. Francisco clearly knew the region well, and educated us on the geology of the cliffs and Algars. In addition to Benagil, we also visited several other spots along the route, each beautiful and unique in its own way. The beautiful photos he shared were icing on the cake. Highly recommend this small company for eco tours of the area.

Beautiful caves, relaxing kayaking trip - Beautiful views, well organised, passionate guide who loved the caves and wanted to share the story of the area and how it came to be. The photos were incredible and the lighting was amazing. My wife and I had the most wonderful time and we would absolutely recommend to all!

Absolutely Incredible Kayak Adventure! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Our kayak trip to the Benagil Caves, Turtle Cave, and Devil Algarve was nothing short of spectacular. Paddling through the pristine waters and exploring these breathtaking locations was an unforgettable experience. The journey on the ocean itself was exhilarating, offering stunning views and a refreshing connection with nature.
A massive shoutout to our guide, Cao! As a geologist by trade, his deep knowledge and passion for the Algarve's geological wonders were evident throughout the tour. He shared fascinating insights into the formation and history of the caves, making the trip both educational and awe-inspiring.
From start to finish, this adventure exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend to anyone seeking a unique and enriching experience on the Algarve coast. Wow!!!

Loved the surroundings and other caves than Benagil Cave - Fantastic experience, but go with the Brotherrootz and very early at 7 AM.
Do not go through Benagil. It is a mess and confusion, and you will be very disappointed, with lots of people, confusion and no organization at all.
Very sad with what I saw in Benagil....

Awesome morning at Benagil! - The sunrise kayak tour was key. We had the cave to our small group so it was relaxing and great for photos!
This your was great and everything promised and more.
The tour guide was so great and took a bunch of photos on the go pro that turned out really well.
Highly recommended!
