Nice experience - I was pleasantly surprised by this visit because like many people I had heard of the casbah but I had never set foot there, I had no idea that this place had such a rich and charged history, moreover I thank the Guide in passing who brought us many details and historical facts about it. The homestay meal was very good, we had the pleasure of enjoying the rechta and we were very well received, I even had the opportunity to get to know a couple of very friendly visitors during the meal, it was very appreciable. At the end of the visit I had my first name printed in Arabic letters and to wait the Guide offered me tea, which she offered me. I recommend

Immersive + personable tour with Farah. Have your walking shoes ready! - What an introduction to Algeria! The history and hospitality wowed us and made us want to learn more. Starting off, our flight was delayed and we arrived very late into our hotel. Oh, and we had no luggage. We didn’t want to waste a day with no plans just sitting around, so we booked our tour at 2AM, knowing that we might not even be able to get confirmation Rest assured around 3AM, I received a confirmation on WhatsApp that we were good to go! We made it to the meeting spot and were warmly greeted by Farah. We met promptly at 10 AM and for the next six hours, Farah guided us and shared the history of the different locations. What an amazing mix of stunning views, in-depth stories with a blend of getting a glimpse of the day to day life of locals. A highlight was the lunch. To have someone open their home and provide a delicious lunch of chicken, rice, tea and much more and share their personal history is heart-moving. What I truly appreciated is how Farah went above and beyond for anyone in the tour. It was an extremely hot day, so she made sure everyone was in the shade and had water. If you asked, she would share some personal stories of different locations. She not only is knowledgeable about the history but has a warm caring heart. Remember - since we didn’t have baggage, she even took us after the tour and helped us get a wall charger! Overall, anyone can get history on a location. But to have someone like Farah share the history and keep a group together during a very hot and long day - that takes a special person Tip - if you go during the summer? Make sure to wear shoes since there are lots of steps. Dress cool, have a hat, and make sure to stay hydrated. And don’t forget your camera!

THE BEST CASBAH EXPERIENCE (with Farah) - This tour is incredibly thorough and well thought out. The guide (Farah) was sublime in every way possible. Well organized, comprehensive and soft spoken (in 3 languages). She knew everything you’d want to know and delivered almost all the information in stories for context.

Beautiful and very informative - Magnificent discovery with our guide Farah who taught us a thousand things about the origin of the city of Algiers and took us where we would not have dared to venture. Alleys, stories we ask for more. The day passed too quickly. The delicious meal and the very warm welcome from the hosts. To do +++ Favorite for the guide who is accessible, friendly, curious, humble 😍😍😍 We contemplated a magnificent view of Algiers from the balcony that only the guides know. Thanks again.

A really enjoyable Casbah tour experience with a very good guide. - I had a one to one tour with Yousra who had fluent English. She explained the history of the Casbah and broader historical context. The places we visited not only covered this, but also brought to life the Casbah as it is now. The tour went at a nice pace and even though I use a walking stick I didn’t feel rushed or stressed. Given that it was Ramadan my tour started in the afternoon and ended with a lovely traditional dinner in a beautiful Ottoman house owned by the family of the tour organiser. We dined with a mixed group of Algerians and foreign visitors. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour and learnt a lot from it. As the tour guide was so good I arranged a separate private tour of the primarily Roman settlement at Tipaza and the mausoleum of the daughter of Cleopatra. This was equally good and again the organisation went smoothly. Maria

A Must Do Tour of Algier's Casbah - A wonderful day exploring the Casbah, and its place in Algiers history from its earliest days before the arrival of the Ottomans through to present day efforts to preserve what is a World Heritage site. Traditional Algerian lunch inside one of the mansions was a highlight. Yousra is an excellent tour guide with an extensive knowledge of history and culture, speaking excellent English.

Amazing, very personal tour - This was an amazing tour with a personal touch. My guide Nihad was so knowledgeable about the history of all the sites and could answer all my questions. She even knew the best places to buy the kinds of souvenirs I was looking for, and took great care of me, even helping me book a cab to get back to the hotel afterwards. I felt really at ease as a solo female traveler. It was such an interesting and also relaxed day. You can have the tour in English, French or Arabic.
