We will meet at Cascais Routes Base for a brief introduction before embarking on our adventure! (If necessary, we can drive you from the Base to the hike’s starting point).
We’ll explore the natural beauty of Cascais and Sintra with either a leisurely walk or an energetic hike. We’ll traverse lush, majestic hills and venture into the unknown to uncover Sintra forest’s best-kept secrets, or follow ancient paths (some dating back to Roman times!) along the blue coast to discover the most stunning and inspiring bays on the Park’s coastal rim.
For the most adventurous kids and adults: You might get the chance to scramble over granite boulders hidden in Sintra Forest!!
While routes will vary based on weather and participants’ physical conditions, here are some places you might get to see: Guincho beach, Peninha, Pena Palace, Moorish Castle, Cabo da Roca (the westernmost point of Continental Europe), Ursa beach, Praia da Adraga, and Praia Grande.
- WHAT TO BRING: Water, sunscreen, comfortable clothes and footwear, hat/cap. Don’t forget your camera; you’ll want to capture the memories! :)
