- Catania - Experience Catania, known as “the black city” due to its lava rock, on this incredible walking tour.
We will explore key attractions such as the Benedictine Monastery and the Church of San Nicolò, where we will see the traditional “candelore” used during the feast of Sant’Agata. Our journey will take us through the Ursino Castle district and to a small cave where a river, now forever covered by the lava from 1669, once flowed.
We will visit the Fish Market, the Cathedral, the historic Elephant Fountain, and University Square. We will also uncover the hidden neighborhood of San Berillo, a lesser-known part of the city. The tour will conclude with a tasting of arancini and other street foods at one of Catania’s finest bars. The cost of the tasting ranges from 2 to 15 euros, depending on the quantity selected.
