- Chamarel Seven Coloured Earth Geopark - Chamarel is a village in the southwest of Mauritius with a population of 700. It is named after the Frenchman Charles Antoine de Chazal de Chamarel, who lived in the area around 1800.
Chamarel is primarily known for its scenic locations and nature attractions in its neighborhood.
Among them are the Seven Colored Earth, the Chamarel Falls and the Black River Gorges National Park. The surrounding area is also known for its locally grown coffee and for the famous Rhum distillery .

Must do! - Fantastic day trip out with Sam Tours! Plenty of time at our requested places and a fabulous lunch included. We even got to try fresh sugar cane!

An excellent day out - There was a good variety of different types of site, all interesting. On top of that, Ravine was an excellent guide/driver who was very friendly and very informative; I was very leased when I heard that he would be my guide the following day on a different tour. I really enjoyed the day, saw interesting sights, and enjoyed the really delicious included lunch. I highly recommend this tour.

Great tour of the south! - We really enjoyed this tour--we got to leave our hotel, and see the southern part of the island, and its natural beauty and what is unique about the island. We really enjoyed going to the Hindu temple sites, and learning about the customs as well. The lunch was very good too. Our guide was Robin, a really nice guy. We also took a tour of the north side with this same company. This was a very good company to deal with, very dependable, and they can provide transportation to other places as well.

Wonderful - Had a wonderful day with Vikash! He knows just about everything there is to know about Mauritian culture and history. He was so friendly and kind, an all around great tour guide. I saw so many different things on this tour and it was a great way to end my trip!

Great tour of the island with a taxi just for us - My mother and I had a superb tour of the island thanks to our driver Nishal who was very available and very friendly. We did the South-East tour, the South-West tour, the hike/ascent of Morne Brabant (with Local Spirit, an agency with which Samtours collaborates and which provided a top guide!!) as well as the Grapefruit garden. Thank you for this tour of the island which leaves us with memorable memories! Hello from France to Nishal!

Awesome - We had an amazing day, we saw so much and our guide Vikesh was so knowledgeable. Vikesh knew his countries history and his insight into hiscou triesculture was wonderful. We were well looked after and highly recomend this tour and Vikesh.

A Must-Do in Mauritius!! - This was one of the best things we did in Mauritius. Our driver was great, he was on time to pick us up at the hotel, was very knowledgeable about the country and gave us a little history lesson while we were driving. He took photos of us whenever we asked and never rushed us at any of the stops. We had to exchange some currency and he brought us to a place we could do that which was very nice as he was not obligated to. The tour was well organized and the sights were breathtaking. Lunch was at a local restaurant and very delicious. We were able to see monkeys at one of the stops which was a bonus. Cannot recommend this tour enough!!

Great tour of SW Mauritius - Just had a great day with Rajan. Saw lots of interesting things and Rajan looked after us really well including taking lots of photos for us. Would definitely recommend.
