- Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep - Re-board the minivan and drive rolling hills surrounding Chiang Mai to experience the Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep. Then Climb a staircase of 306 steps leading to Doi Suthep temple. This staircase leading to the site is adorned with the impressive body of the mythical dragon-headed serpent, or Naga, snaking its way down 306 steps.
This is definitely the best way to approach the temple but there is also a funicular railway if you are less steady on your feet.
