Additional Information

It was likely the Daily Telegraph that suggested a unique reason to tour each Greek island a few years ago. For Crete, the main lure was the cuisine. Local residents would undoubtedly concur, as while 90% of the Greek islands possess unrivaled allure, Crete adds to that appeal with the highest-grade food. Clearly, a culinary exploration of the city would be an excellent decision.

This journey will present you with the chance to savor an array of indigenous produce, supplied by outstanding Cretan producers. From the emblematic Raki / Tsikoudia, to the Cretan Bougatsa, the indigenous varieties of Cheese, olives, and even the finest confections.

To make this tour stand out, we’ve incorporated a trip to a local herb and products shop, (a hidden jewel among locals), as well as a tour of the premier traditional Cretan knife maker.

In sum, if a person is visiting Crete to immerse themselves in its genuine character, this tour is exactly what they need.

Proper food tour of local delicacies - Christof was a fantastic guide. Very easy to talk to. You can see so many locals saying hi to him during the tour so he must be very liked by local shop owners. We took the 9am tour so we were just the 2 of us as most people take a later one! So this transformed into a private tour and we were able to stay how long we wanted in each place. We particularly loved Prassos the herbs shop and its owner. And of course the food was excellent all along. This really is a food tour not a walking tour. We had pastries with cheese, cheese board, sweets, coffee, honey and alcohol and everything was local and delicious. We recommend, it is worth the money.

Great food tour - not to be missed - If you’re in Chania, you cannot miss this food tour! Giannis was an amazing guide, making the experience both fun and informative. We visited six different places, sampling delicious and authentic local dishes. A highlight was the charming herb shop, where we learned about various organic aromatic herbs and herbal teas. Each stop offered unique and mouthwatering flavors, showcasing the best of Greek cuisine. Highly recommended!

Amazing greek food - Amazing food with a little tour in the gorgeous city of Chania. We had a great time with our guide who takes good care of his guests. You might want to arrive a bit earlier to find a parking spot in the city.

Amazing foodie experience in Chania - I have waited entirely too long to write this review.....it was an absolutely amazing experience for me and for my entire extended family of 7. Our guide, Christos, treated each one of us like family, giving us amazing "inside" information on the shops and restaurants we toured, and enabling us to talk extensively to the shopkeepers, etc. so that we could really get to know them and their various crafts. My 11-year-old son was even able to make friends with one of the shopkeeper's sons that is his age, and they hung out together for over an hour....I cannot recommend Christos and his Company highly enough. Christos, I am sorry it has taken so long for me to post this review, please forgive me!

Oh my soul, just what the doctor ordered! A fantastic tour of this town! - Our tour guide was authentic, energized, and sweet! We loved the walking food tour if Chania. We loved the town and we got out early to walk in our own. Then we we met up with our tour guide and what a good sampling it was! Authentic, unique, yummy food! Definitely should have skipped breakfast for this private tour! Lots of food. He gave us background information on the establishment history, local culture, historical Greek traditions. We loved it. Our ship departed at 3, so for the amount of time we had in port, this was the best tour to experience this wonderful town! Loved the herbalist store visit, what a beautiful soul meeting the needs of his community, I love the small business concept of these types of establishments! An excellent experience!

Ok but over-priced - It was ok - As in, the guide was nice & friendly and the food was ok. However, the food places were relatively close to each other, so we didn’t explore much of the area. We tasted a pastry snack, some cheeses, another kind of pastry with a Greek coffee, visited a herb shop, had a Gyros, stopped for a small dessert and finally a little taste of olive oil and honey - (for us to buy from the shop). I felt it was overpriced for a two and a half hour tour and the kind of food we tasted. This tour may be great for those who never visited Greece and have only little time to explore and try the cuisine.
