A wonderful evening of great food and wine - My girlfriend and i visited here when staying in Rethymnou. It really was a fabulous evening. The view, food and of course the wine were all excellent. Run by father and son, they make a great team. Dad does the cooking ( which is all traditional and lovely ) and the son ( Sifis) eloquently educates you on the Cretan wine industry and of course the wines you sample. All in all an extremely relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable evening.

Incredible food and wine experience - 10/10 for this experience. This was my husband and I’s first trip to Crete and our hotel, The White Palace, strongly recommended the Secret Gorge wine tasting and authentic Greek food experience and we sure did get the authentic Greek experience. Sifis and his dad were very welcoming and the food just didn’t stop coming which was nothing compared to the wine! We got to tast 8 different bottles of wine, I don’t think that includes the champagne to start, and each a full glass with the encouragement to ask for more of any wine we wanted. It was incredible. The quality of the food was the best we had on the island! It was 90% organic which you could taste. We had the best grape leaves fresh from Sifis’s grandmother, a great cheese variety, deconstructed bruschetta (which was my favorite), great olive oil, the most tender lamb, escargot, and a honey drenched filled pita dessert. The ingredients were the highest quality but the recipes were simple with made the taste out of this world! Sifis and his dad made us feel like part of the family from the Raki shot to start to the gifts we received, we were sad when the event had to end, although we never felt rushed. Food, amazing. Wine, amaizing. Hospitality, amazing… now the view…breathtaking!! We got there a little late due to the cab not knowing where the Secret Gorge was but we still got a little bit of a sunset and it was beautiful. The pagoda overlooks a gorge and I can’t stop dreaming about it. I cannot recommend this experience enough! I say experience because Sifis and his dad have thought of every detail to make this a one of a kind eating experience!

Best Wine and Food - This is definitely a must do experience if visiting Crete.
It’s a Father and Son run evening with beautiful family cooked meals of traditional food. I even tried snails! And tasting of 8 wines from around the region.
It’s a lovely and relaxed evening with no time pressure. The food comes out as it is ready and the wines are replenished as you drink them. The view is amazing.
I visited when this was just being started so 3 of us got all the attention, but even at capacity only 12 people can attend,
So it’s a personalised and private evening.

Most authentic, relaxing, and beautiful wine and dinner experience we had while visiting Crete! - One of the most memorable parts of our trip to Crete! We loved every wine, all of the food (even the snails were good), and especially the hosts! The father and son duo made this experience so authentic. The website mentions the mystic scenery, and I was amazed how as the night fell, the gorge really did take on a mystical feeling. It was a stunning backdrop. Be sure to plan for a ride because the tasting of wine were almost full glasses! We highly recommend this experience while you are visiting Crete!
