Highlights
  • U.S. Custom House - Begin the tour here at what was once the boundary of the walled city of Charles Towne. Guests will receive an introduction and learn why the interior of the original Walled City is prime for haunted activity. This meeting spot marks one of the original bastions of the walled city.
  • Philadelphia Alley - Stroll through one of Charleston’s most picturesque and eerily beautiful alleys. This alleyway, once an actual street, has reverted to its original purpose and symbolizes one of the early settlements’ greatest adversaries: fire!
  • St. Philip’s Church - Walk past the Church that hosts Charleston’s oldest continuous congregation and view the Graveyard and Cemetery! The history of this site extends not only to the antebellum period but also to the colonial era.
  • Old Exchange & Provost Dungeon - It’s fascinating to realize that ships once docked at the back of this structure. More importantly, it housed prisoners during the American Revolution.
  • Washington Square - Once a public open space, this site is known for numerous ghostly encounters over the years. It was once the edge of Charleston and a venue for events, including public hangings.
  • Circular Congregational Church - Guests will have the opportunity to see Charleston’s oldest graveyard. Please note that we do not enter the graveyard but observe from the outside.
  • Charleston - Additional time on the itinerary is spent walking between the other attractions.

Additional Information

This one of a kind ghost tour led by a lifelong local and licensed guided Gia Nocturne is an in depth view on paranormal activity here in the Holy City. Through Gia’s own experiences guest will learn what to look out for and how several spirits have come to be associated with historic locations in Charleston. This tour specifically covers ground in what was the original walled portion of Charleston and as such our most historic and haunted district. Please note this is not an active ghost hunt but rather the reflections of a local guide walking on the same streets she would have as a child and as such some of the most impressive knowledge base for paranormal activity in the city! Guests will leave with a sense of what to look for with the signs of encounters all around us and why certain locations have certain activity but most of all a yearning to continue the search on your own after the tour!
