- Dujiangyan Panda Base - Dujiangyan Giant Panda Base is located on the northwest , 70km away from Chengdu city, which needs about 1.5hr driving.It presents a wild natural environment for the pandas. There are about 40 Pandas in the base including many famous celebrities like Bao Bao who was born in Washington, DC. We will spend one day volunteering in Dujianyan Panda Base. During the volunteering, we will make the Panda’s cakes, clean the enclosures, and feed them the cakes.

7:00-8:40
Commute to Dujiangyan Panda Base
8:40-9:00
Finalize registration process; put on work attire and gloves, wear the volunteer identification card.
9:00-10:00
Begin cleaning the panda enclosures and breaking bamboo, remove any leftover food, etc.
10:00-11:00
Visit other panda environments to observe the charming black and white creatures
11:00-11:30
Provide the panda with bamboo or other nutrients, like carrots, panda cake and apples.
11:30-13:00
Break for lunch
13:00-14:00
Watch a documentary about pandas to further understand their biology and lifestyle.
14:00-15:00
Clean panda enclosures and feed pandas a second time
15:00-15:30
Prepare panda cakes and receive the panda volunteer certificate
15:30-17:00
Return trip to downtown Chengdu
