The best class ever! - It was AMAZING! The class was really great and informative, as well as open and sociable! The food was absolutely delicious and as a vegetarian, there was no problem to adapt the meals without losing any flavor. I absolutely loved it! #sexysmile

IT'S A MUST - Cici is a great cook and we spent an entire afternoon laughing and learning. It's not the classic cooking class, it's really very familiar in a location into the wild Advise!

Great activity - few minor niggles - Pick up from hotel was easy and on time. We ended up waiting in the van for somebody who did not show up (not the fault of the tour provider). The market area was extremely hot as it was under a tin roof. If you go in April I would recommend staying in the van as the heat made me feel unwell. I don't know how the local people work in that heat! When we arrived at the cooking location we were caught off-guard when our guide got the group to make the spring roll filling without any of us washing our hands. After this we were asked to wash our hands between eating and cooking. I think the first time was done in error (possibly because we were running late after the situation with the person who didn't turn up). Other than this small issue everything else was great. The cooking area was hot when we visited in April but they did provide cold water and had fans to help cool the area. Toilets were available on site but the bins became quite full by the end of the night as there were lots of groups cooking. Transport back to the hotel after the event was good.

Disappointed - We were looking forward to this class and had attended a great cooking class the day before so our expectations were high. Unfortunately we didn’t have a good experience. They split you up based on the dish you are cooking so you don’t get to cook with whoever you came with unless they pick to cook the same thing. I was not comfortable with the hygiene of the space. The utensils I was given were dirty. You use a spoon to taste something and then you are told to use the same spoon to sample the dish, effectively having the entire class use their now dirty spoons to dig into a shared dish. There was a dead bug on my towel and you were meant to use the same cutting board the whole time without washing it (from what I could tell) even after raw egg was on it. I find hygiene quite important while cooking so I found this unsettling. We were in a large group and the directions we were given were a bit disjointed leaving several of us to have to ask each other what to do next during the cooking process. Once the dishes were done you were told to try it but then were only given the option to add more spice and no feedback on what to do if it was too sweet, salty, etc. you also didn’t have any extra ingredients or condiments at your cooking stations so you couldn’t easily adjust on your own. Overall the food turned out only okay. I think this cooking experience would be best for a solo travelled looking to make friends if they aren’t big into cooking and are a bit relaxed with cleanliness.
