Chichen Itza Deluxe - brilliant experience - We booked this tour via our hotel (Royalton Chic) as wanted to go and experience some culture and see some wonderful sights in Chichen Itza and the Cenote. We booked the deluxe package so there were no hidden charges as we read this was an issue in so many other reviews of other companies! More on this later though… The pick up was prompt and we headed for the over 2 hour journey to Chichen Itza, stopping at a local shop, just before. The Chichen Itza tour was brilliant and went into a lot of detail on the history and astronomy knowledge of the Mayan creators. It was very hot though and we were thankful of stopping in the shade for some of the long talks. The temple itself is fantastic and of course got the obligatory selfies! Food stop off was ok, but not good for vegans so we didn’t eat much. And was very hot. We then stopped at Selva Maya Cenote and this was awesome to have a dip in and chill. Note here is where there are still hidden charges for life jackets and lockers - 65 MXN each… Final stop off at Valladolid was lovely, especially with a nice coconut ice cream in the square 😊 The tour was made by an excellent and humorous tour guide - thanks Beto! And the driver was brill - thanks Sergio. The whole team were fantastic. Would highly recommend.

This is my 1st time in Mexico and our guides did a wonderful job assisting us throughout the day. 10/10 recommend using them! We loved having Freddy, Reese, and Victor as our tour guides.

Trip to Chichen Itsa with Cancún Playa De Carmen - The trip was fun and I thoughtfully enjoyed the sights as well as the wealth of information the tour guides Luis, Carlos, and Jesus gave. What I didn’t enjoy is once you get close to Chichen, you are immediately dropped off at a tourist trap which charged very expensive prices and contained pushy salespeople. Once you leave it is all good until you ar brought back about 2 hours later where you eat lunch. The lunch was good but it was labeled “Buffet Style” though once you get there you are shown to people who serve you food and attempt to give the littlest amount of food possible. Overall, if you can get past the tourist trap it was a great experience and definitely something everyone should try.
