Wonderful Mayan Adventure - We had such a great time exploring Ek Balam, Chichen Itza and the cenote at the end of the day! Our rep, Teresita was so knowledgeable and friendly, helping us to find the right excursion for our family to make some Mayan memories. Our tour guide, Saoul and driver Berto were fantastic. Saoul knows so much about the history of Chichen Itza and gave a very colourful presentation to help us understand the culture throughout our tour. Chichen Itza is hotter than Cancun (at least when we were there), so find shade and take advantage of the water bottles on the bus! Our local guide in Ek Balam was very insightful and guided us through our time there with kindness and expertise. Would definitely recommend! If you go to the cenote, they do not supply or sell towels so you must bring your own.

Long day but totally worth it! - We did the tour with Xichen, and we booked it through Carmen with Nexus tours. There were a few different companies that had different offerings but Carmen was able to help us pick the right trip for us, going above and beyond messaging after desk hours to answer any questions or concerns we had. The trip is a very long day with a shuttle arriving at 7am to take you to a transfer station to get on a larger bus, and the main bus takes you direct to your hotel at the end of the night for us was around 9:30pm. Would not recommend if you have young kids it would be a very long day for them. The drive is long but our driver Adrian was great, very professional and our tour guide Mario made the time pass, being very knowledgeable and adding lots of humour in his tour it was great. He had tips on where to get souvenirs during the excursion, and even made the effort to keep us in the shade while explaining the temples at Chichen Itza. The swimming at the Cenote was an amazing experience and the dining in the small town we went to afterwards was great too, with some great sites. Definitely needed a good rest after but would recommend this trip for someone wanting to see more on their trip in Mexico.

Travel with Sunwing to Cancun - We had a fantastic stay at the Riu. The activities on site were varied, and the excursions with Nexus/Sunwing, especially thanks to Alvaro, were perfect. His smile and his knowledge of the region were of great help to us. A big thank you to Alvaro and all the hotel staff for this warm welcome.

Chichen Itza / Cenote Package - Chichen Itza is a nice place to visit if you are interested in the culture and history of Mexico. Our reps, Oscar, Cesar and Ricardo were very helpful and informative when we were trying to decide which excursion we should do. The food provided was not that good. Sandwich, muffin and a juice box for breakfast on the bus. Among other drinks provided throughout the day. Then for lunch, we went to an amazing buffet in Playa Del Carmen 10/10. We had 45 mins of our own time to explore the UNESCO world heritage site but honestly wasn't enough time. It's a very large place and takes some time to walk from one place to another. After we went to the cenote, which was crowded but very beautiful. Everyone had to wear life jackets and only had 40 mins to swim before heading back to the bus.

Do not book through Nexus Tours or Cancun Passion - We were very mislead by Nexus Tours when booking this trip from Cancun to Chitzen Itzá. First when I got on the bus I told the host that I get very car sick if I sit in the back and needed to sit at the front of the bus. They told me it was assigned seating and I had to sit at the very back of the bus. Despite begging them to allow me to sit at the front they refused. I spent the day very sick and vomited in the washroom toilet on the bus. They are denying that I vomited (they obviously weren’t in the washroom with me) and stated they offered me a spot at the front but I declined. We were told by our booking agent through Nexus Tours that we would get 1 hour to swim at the Cennote and that life jackets were there but optional. When we arrived at the Cennote we were told we would get 10 minutes in the water and that it was mandatory to rent a life jacket at an additional cost. We were told we would be back to our resort by 7:00/7:30pm. We arrived back at our resort at almost 9:30pm. We spent from 3:30pm-9:30pm just dropping people off at resorts. Imagine what a child is like not getting supper until 9:30pm. Nexus tours used Cancun Passion to provide the tour. Chitzen itza was a beautiful location and worth seeing just do not do it with this company as they really don’t care about their guests. This trip was done with 4 adults and 1 child.
