Highlights
  • Mount Fuji - See Hakone and Mt Fuji with a private guide who will help you customize your time in the area just as you like it. No need to deal with tour groups or battle public transportation. Instead, you’ll have a private transport round-trip from Tokyo, plus an English speaking driver/guide to give you personalized attention and help you make the day the best possible experience.

  • Mt. Fuji 5th Station - The 5th Station of Mount Fuji, also known as Fujinomiya 5th Station or Yoshida 5th Station, is the most popular starting point for climbers during the summer climbing season. It is located at an altitude of about 2,300 meters (7,546 feet) and offers facilities such as restaurants, shops, and accommodation. It’s also accessible by road, making it a popular destination for those who wish to experience the mountain without climbing to the summit. The station provides stunning views of the surrounding area on clear days.

  • Arakurayama Sengen Park - Arakurayama Sengen Park is a famous park located in Fujiyoshida City, Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan. It’s well-known for the Chureito Pagoda, a five-storied pagoda that sits on the mountainside overlooking Fujiyoshida City and Mount Fuji. The park is particularly popular during cherry blossom season (usually in mid-April) when over 600 cherry trees bloom, providing a breathtaking backdrop to the pagoda and Mount Fuji. To reach the pagoda, visitors must climb a steep staircase of 398 steps, but the view from the top is considered one of the best in Japan. Apart from the pagoda, the park also includes the Arakura Fuji Sengen Shrine, which is part of a larger shrine complex dedicated to the worship of Mount Fuji. The park is a popular spot for photographers due to its stunning views, especially during the cherry blossom season and in autumn when the leaves change color.

  • Oshino Hakkai - Oshino Hakkai is a picturesque attraction in Japan’s Fuji Five Lakes region, featuring eight clear ponds and traditional thatched-roof buildings. Visitors can enjoy tranquil walks, stunning views of Mount Fuji, and a glimpse into Japan’s traditional rural life. The ponds are fed by snowmelt from Mount Fuji, creating a serene and beautiful setting. A visit to Oshino Hakkai provides a peaceful nature escape in a culturally rich area.

  • Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Jinja Shrine - The Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Jinja Shrine, also known as the Fujiyoshida Sengen Shrine, is the main Sengen Shrine on the north side of Mt. Fuji in Japan. The shrine is said to have been established in CE 100 and is dedicated to Konohanasakuya-hime, the Shinto goddess of Mt. Fuji[1]. The shrine has an extensive history and has played a significant role in the development of Shintoism in Japan

  • Lake Kawaguchiko - Lake Kawaguchi is one of the five lakes that surround Mount Fuji in Japan. It’s a popular tourist destination known for its beautiful views and outdoor activities. Would you like to know more about its location, history, or activities available

  • Oishi Park - Oishi Park is a public park located on the north shore of Lake Kawaguchi. From the park you can enjoy a beautiful view of Mt. Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi. The park features a 350m walking path with many flowers planted along it; from early April to Late May the moss phlox flowers spread out like a pink carpet, from late June into late July the gorgeous lavender plants bloom, and from mid to late-October the kokia shrubs show their beautiful red autumn colors. The contrast between the various flowers and Mt. Fuji is spectacular. The park is also home to the Kawaguchiko Natural Living Center where you can enjoy making fruit jam and an all-you-can eat cherry & blueberry picking course. They also feature a café where you can try specialty made blueberry ice cream.

  • Lake Ashinoko Sky Line - Lake Ashi, also referred to as Hakone Lake or Ashinoko Lake, is a scenic lake in the Hakone area of Kanagawa Prefecture in Honshū, Japan.

  • Hakone Pirate Ship Tōgendai Port - Experience Pirate Cruise at Lake Ashi. The Hakone Pirate Ships are sightseeing cruise ships built as replicas of pirate ships. The large and splendid ships have attracted people’s attention and are quite popular.

  • Owaku-dani Valley - If you take a glance over the vast, dreary piece of land, you’ll notice a white pillar of smoke rising from the bare surface of the mountain… Owakudani is one of most famous viewpoints in Hakone, where you can observe the intense volcanic activity from up close. It is said that this place came to be thanks to a phreatic eruption and pyroclastic flow that occurred almost 3000 years ago. The peculiar sulfur smell that spreads throughout the area was the reason behind its second name from the past, Jigokudani (Hell Valley). One of the local specialties is the “black eggs”, whose main trait is in the shells that turn black due to a chemical reaction with geothermal energy and volcanic gas. Head to this unique site using the ropeway, and enjoy a nice view of Hakone and Mt. Fuji along the way

Perfect day - Being able to see Mt Fugi. You never know if there will be cloud coverage, but we lucked out, it was a beautiful day and the mountain was visible. Each stop our tour guide took us was great. So glad we chose this trip. Our driver/tour guide David did a great job.

Great experience - The full-day private tour is a great option for people who don't have much time but would like to see some interesting places. Our guide - Ali - was great, he shared some historical facts with us, answered our questions, and patiently waited for us when we were exploring the venues. I would definitely book the trip again.

Beautiful views of Mt Fuji despite the Golden Week crowds - We had a great one day tour viewing Mt Fuji and surrounding areas. Our adventure was originally scheduled for a less than ideal day due to heavy rain, but the tour driver proactively recommended rescheduling. Fortunately, the weather cooperated and we were able to reschedule on a sunny day and it was worth it despite Golden Week crowds. We didn’t get to see all the sites, but we enjoyed the great views of Mt Fuji from many different vantage points. Our driver Ali was helpful making recommendations. He arrived early at our hotel for pick up and was willing to extend the return time due to the crazy amount of traffic.

Highlight of our Japan visit - This full day private tour with Ali was the highlight of our time in Japan. My brothers and I saw some breathtaking views, hiked the stairs at the pagoda for some wonderful pictures of Mt Fuji, walked the gardens and just really enjoyed everything about the day. Ali was incredibly accommodating- picking us up at hotel and dropping us at train station and all the in between. He made the trip feel non-touristy. We highly recommend this private tour!

A long but wonderful trip - A full day since it’s a 2 hour drive back and forth to the area from Tokyo. But the views were amazing, the stops were great locations and the area beautiful to see. Ali was a great driver and host.

An absolutely fabulous day enhanced by our guide - An excellent service. From the point of booking, which was very last minute due to another company cancelling last minute, communication from this company was fantastic. They recommended an earlier start to avoid the Tokyo traffic to ensure we got the most out of our day. Our guide Ali arrived at the hotel early and was friendly and informative throughout the day. At each destination he provided useful pointers to ensure we got the most out of this experience. Even though Mt Fuji remained hidden we had the most incredible day of which Ali played a big part. Ali was knowledgeable and enabled us to experience much more than if we had visited independently. Ali even managed to squeeze in a surprise visit to the ice cave. An absolutely fabulous day enhanced by our guide, thank you

Ali couldn't have been a better guide for a day at Mt. Fuji - My adult son and I went to Mt Fuji with Ali. He was a 5 star guide, on time, a great driver, told us what we needed to know and pointed out things that might interest us. And when we mentioned that we would like to try real Japanese ramen, he dropped us off at a fabulous non-tourist ramen restaurant. He son says it is the best ramen he has ever had. If we ever need a guide in Tokyo, we would find Ali and go with him 100%.

Use caution - The reviews I read were for a driver named “Ali.” He was not the driver who arrived for our trip. Our driver was timely, that’s the only positive thing I can say. The ad stated that the driver spoke English, which he did not. 2 of the 5 passengers on this trip happened to speak Hindi, otherwise I would have been completely out of luck. Additionally, my guests were invited to enjoy themselves, not to be translators for the driver. The duration of the outing was spent with the driver looming over us from site to site, pressuring us to move faster to get to the next site. Again, he did not speak English to me (the person who booked and paid for the trip) during any portion of the excursion. So it did not feel like I had a guide at all. I would also like to note that he was texting the entire time he was driving which caused him to slam on the brakes very frequently. On the way back to our airbnb he turned off the air conditioner without asking us, it was over 80 degrees outside and we had just walked all day. We were not offered water during any portion of our trip as listed on the page either. Instead, at one of the stops our driver asked one of my guests to purchase him an ice cream. It was a very awkward and uncomfortable trip. If you book I would confirm that the driver you receive is one you’ve actually read reviews about.
