Additional Information

This is a top-notch educational journey in the Everglades Area, ideal for all ages… from little ones up to grandparents. Restricting to only six guests, it’s a personal eco-adventure. Every day brings something new in the Everglades and the 10,000 Islands, as such we aim to be as flexible and adaptable as possible. The tour could/would encompass a little bird watching, photography activities, wandering through tidal pools, collecting shells on a secluded beach, delving into one of the 10,000 Islands and/or seine netting for aquatic life on a beach. The initial segment of the experience involves a guided boat eco tour in pursuit of the region’s abundant wildlife. The secondary segment is a guided interpretive walk on a secluded barrier island to explore the island’s beaches, tidal pools and inter-tidal zones.

  • You will need to access the boat by ladder. With enough notice, you can load from a floating dock. Please advise in the ‘Special Requirements’ field at the time of booking if you require this option.

Great fun, great camping, great food! - We had a great time during our 3-day, 2-night adventure. Don McCumber (our guide) made the excursion even better. I expected him to be knowledgeable various channels and islands ... I was not surprised that he was engaging and participated with our crazy group during our campfire sing-a-longs! BUT ... I had no idea that he would have so much knowledge about the myriad of flora, fauna and creatures that we encountered. His insights into the various conchs, mollusks and crustaceans and their interactions was a highlight for me. AND ... did I mention his culinary talents? The menu was diverse, filling and flavorful ... I had not expected this. I should also mention the company in general (Charles, Dan). Easy to work with and flexible. These traits were a must when coordinating folks from multiple states. An adventure in the Everglades? Work with these folks! Aquaterra Excursions and Everglades Boat Tours

Very good way to spend a half day getting a glimpse of the real Everglades - Capt. Charles Wright took me, my wife, and her parents out about a month ago. Great trip. Dude knows what he's talking about. The 5 green dots are for how solicitous Wright was of my elderly in-laws. Made it easy for them. Great way to spend the morning.

Great wildlife experience. - Great experience getting out in the mangroves and seeing lots of wildlife. Very knowledgeable guide on marine life, bird life, shellfish, and the history of the area. This is an ocean and river tour with an outboard motor. No airboat and no gators.

Also learned some fascinating things about the ecosystem and other animals that inhabit the area. Don was a lovely and hugely knowledgable guide. Amazing trip!

Relaxing afternoon amongst the mangroves - Dan was a very knowledgeable guide and we learned a lot from him. It was nice to spend the afternoon out on the boat. Due to the weather we saw mostly birds, but a dolphin did stick its fin out of the water a few times!

Nice tour - The boating in the Everglades was wonderful. The weather was spectacular, and the tour guide knew a good deal about the ecosystem and history. There is a nice amount of boating, but very little walking. We really walked for only about 200 feet, I would guess.

A great way to explore the Everglades National Park - This was a tremendous way to see the Everglades National Park. The Captain was terrific at spotting wild life on both land and water. He was very knowledgable, extremely friendly and amusing. We managed to see dolphins, sharks and a manatee together with a host of birds. There was little to fault with this trip. However no water was provided free or to buy this is, in my mind, a serious omission given the length of the trip, three hours, and a temperature well into the 90s. Whether this was a one off omission on this trip or a policy I do not know but it should be rectified immediately as I would suggest that this could be dangerous given the temperature. So be warned take plenty of water and you will have a great time.
