Highlights
  • Hama Rikyu Gardens - The Hamarikyu Gardens are the largest of the Daimyo gardens in Tokyo. These gardens date back to the Edo period (1603-1868) when samurai created gardens on their expansive estates. The garden features a waterway, and the picturesque views of bridges, buildings, and trees are stunning. Visitors can enjoy seasonal flowers throughout the year. It’s the only spot in Tokyo with a pond fed by seawater.
  • Advertising Museum Tokyo - This museum showcases exhibits on Japanese advertising. Visitors can explore the evolution of advertising and compare Japanese and international ads. Entry is free.
  • Hayao Miyazaki’s Nippon Television Giant Clock - This steampunk-inspired copper karakuri clock was designed by Hayao Miyazaki, the renowned Studio Ghibli animation director. At specific times, the clock lights up and moves to music. Catching it in action is a matter of luck.
  • Hibiya Shrine - Situated in an office district, Hibiya Shrine has a 400-year history and is dedicated to the god of agriculture and a deity that wards off impurities.
