- Cody Wyoming Adventures - Red Canyon River Trips Northfork Whitewater Adventure begins from our office located at 1119 12th street Cody Wyoming(right next door to the Irma Hotel)You’ll begin your adventure at 9am from our shop and be driven up to the Shoshone National Forest.On this scenic drive your guides will be providing you with fun historical facts of Buffalo Bill Cody and the cool geology in our area.The North Fork not only boasts with stunning views but is also the home for many of Wyoming’s wildlife species.This half day whitewater adventure brings you to many scenic areas and even allows you to view a variety of fossils in the canyon walls.On this whitewater adventure we require a minimum age of 10years old to participate due to hitting larger rapids such “Wapiti Hole”.Wyoming’s North Fork of the Shoshone River is a free flowing river and only runs when we have peak runoff from snow melt.Due to our snow melt being very seasonal we can only raft this section for short window.

On Red Canyon River Trips’ North Fork Whitewater Adventure, you’ll raft through a stunning 14-mile stretch of the Shoshone River, encountering a series of thrilling rapids. Our journey on the North Fork starts with a drive into the Shoshone National Forest, where you’ll embark on an exciting and scenic half-day tour. Your CWA tour specialist will entertain you with engaging mountain man stories and the history of Buffalo Bill Cody and his Wild West town. As you navigate this part of the Shoshone River, you’ll be treated to breathtaking views, possibly spot various Wyoming wildlife species, and even see some fascinating fossils embedded in the canyon walls. The North Fork of the Shoshone River features exhilarating rapids like “Wapiti Hole” and is only raftable during the peak snowmelt runoff season, offering a wild and fun ride. At CWA, safety is our top priority, so for this adventurous section of the river, we have a minimum age limit of 10 years old and do not recommend it for individuals with serious health conditions.
